I found out something interesting about the Edge power amp - according to Cambridge it doesn't need any warm up time at all. I'm really surprised by that if that's what happens but it would be a real bonus - all my previous power amps have required at least an hour to give their best.

Interesting Jules, l tend to find the same as yourself, but of course, it not just the amps, it's also the other gear that needs to get warmed up as well. l never leave my gear on, as sometimes it can be a week before l get a chance to listen, so it's not cost effective. Besides l enjoy hearing the set up clicking into place as it warms up.

Next session I will see what the system sounds like when cold ...

Clocks take the longest time to come on song. That's why anything digital has a settling period.

Most of this is due to thermal expansion and depends on how each piece of equipment is configured, a big class 'a' does tale a wee while to come on song as do some dac's this is due to case heat/ heat dissiaption and how big/thick the case work is.
Clocks I leave on the master clock 24/7 due to its dual oven design and stability, DDC's take around 20 minutes to produce full power if you like. However some pieces of audio do take an absolute age to deliver max perfomance I know I have a few of them and 4 days you might just get the hint of what is coming!
