Well, I did at one stage own an NVA integrated, but never a passive.
To be honest I think remote control is a must due to the levels on Spotify being so variable.

Unfortunately the signature would not work with my Seg and I invested far to much in the seg to change it so did not go down this route. But a lot more cost effective than the SOtM Neo

No music today for me.  Went to bed with a headache last night and woke up with one, took ages to shift. Another bit of kit arrived today, this time an acrylic shelf made by Topping as a desktop unit for their D30 & A30. I’m going to use it for my D30, pi and battery. It’s a decent enough thing, with nice textured metal legs. Managed to destroy a few finger nails getting that horrible protection film off the acrylic!   |

I'm not sure what your budget is going to be for a pre, Jules, but might it be worth considering a Schiit Saga which is switchable between passive and active, plus it has a cool-looking valve poking out of the top?  |

Yes, that's my old one for sale on other fora. It's not as good imho as the Chinese RVC passive, and the valve is not an active gain stage, just a buffer, so it doesn't give any extra gain. |

I saw that it was only a buffer, Jerry. I thought perhaps Jules might miss the "analogue warmth" he's used to on occasion. Interesting, though, that you say it's not as good as the RVC. I must admit that (although I'd canvas opinion first) the Schiit would be high up on my list of "things to try" if I were going the same route that Jules is now. I didn't see the one you're selling, by the way. It was a flash of inspiration on my part.  |

Yes, it was on my list of things to try, too. So I tried it.  And it is a nice piece of kit. And valve rolling it is fun and can introduce the colourations of your choice! |

Transparency is what I'm after. If J likes it with his D30, chances are I will too. It has remote and four inputs so I can try other gear with it.
