Qobuz works with MyVolumio (the subscription version). Are you sure you have the right Volumio build, Jules? I had no problems with it when I was trialling it. hmm - volumio was installed on the digione player - when I look at it on the internet it says 'my volumio' beta. I don't know anything about subscription! There is a sign up and login option on the volumio page I have open ...

I think you have to install the spotify app onto the Pi and suspect something similar for Qobuz.

OK so looks like I need to pay the 2.99E a month subscription to get qobuz integration

LMS is not that bad a way of running things. If it's so awful, why is it that Innuous Zen use it to drive their devices?
LMS has the wonderful Spotty app, and the wonderful Qobuz app, as well as the wonderful Tidal app, and they're all easy to drive. Of the three Spotty interfaces the best, and you can add artists and albums without having to go to a web based interface. The other two require logging in over the 'net and using those interfaces to add to your library.

I can certainly look at LMS later on, thanks Chris. So, quick update - paid my subscription and now have qobuz integration with the web based volumio. That's the good news. The only bad news is that the qobuz desktop app doesn't work so you have to do it via volumio. spotify deskstop app works fine. Now letting spoti and qoboz battle it out sound quality wise ...

How are you getting on with the Volumio interface, Jules?, I found it a bit clunky.

1) Good clean 15 v PSU for the DAC 3) Black ravioli pads for the pi x 2 for the DAC x 2 2) IFI USB silencer to help clean the pi board 4) 4G router with Melcord ethernet cable This, rearranged in order of preference (my opinion). The 4G router is a great solution if you have poor broadband or wi-fi, otherwise it's not necessary.

MyVolumio is only about £2 a month. You need it for Qobuz and it works well.
I suggest you get around to it later, there's plenty yet to optimise with Spotify replay before you hit the ceiling there. No-one has mentioned amending the config.txt configuration file, so that's another thing to add to the list.

Finished today's session now, it has been excellent.
I have myvolumio and qobuz installed. So far qobuz is edging it in sound quality - just slightly more resolution and detail there ...
In answer to Paul's question, no, I don't like the volumio interface very much at all and that might be an issue with qobuz long term, unless they can get their desktop app to work properly.
Much prefer the spoti desktop app.
As Martin suggests, I want to try and max spotify before making a decision about which to stick with!

I am in complete agreement with both Martin and John about how good Spotify can be. It has a easy to use interface and lots of choice, plus the sound quality is quite exceptional for a lossy format.

I'm going to take a guess here, and say that this probably has a very small remote, Jerry?

Mmm, no, not really. A bit bigger than credit card size but made of metal and about 1.5cm thick. Quite chunky and solid, actually!

Have you got one of these yet Jerry?

Have you got one of these yet Jerry? Yes, arrived Saturday. It's a thing of wonder. Just seems like a transparent window for the music. Not sure yet, but I'll probably keep my valve pre as it's nice to have a bit of a change now and then, and I'm sure to want a bit of enveloping warmth occasionally. My Plan is to substantially reduce the box swapping by keeping excellent alternatives to hand that can be swapped in and out as the whim takes me. - Speaker and preamp alternatives now sorted.

Great result Jerry.
I've just noticed it's powered by mains -I presume that's just because of the remote control circuitry. I was hoping to avoid another mains cable but not sure I can manage without remote.

Yep, you need power to operate the remote functions! It's not in the signal path so you don't need anything fancy in the way of fancy mains cables or power conditioning for it.

If you can live without a remote the little NVA P20 would probably be a good bet, Jules.
