I just got in (2) Stealth Dream 20-20 power cables to power my Rowland 925 mono amps. Incredibly fast and dynamic, with that famous Stealth imaging. ***Disclaimer - I am now a Stealth dealer!  |

I don't trust a word from 99% of hifi reviewers on eBay.
Too many freebies and review samples clouding the waters.
The only thing to do is buy on sale or return and trust your own instinct / judgement.

The purpose of a forum is to exchange ideas and findings, and that's always very useful information upon which to make shortlists. However, that's as far as it goes: gaining ideas on where to go next. The final bit is hearing it for yourself in your own environment. |

I have a few more challenges (including my location) with purchases.
Most purchases are from far away lands.
Agreed that reviews are not gospel. But a starting point at least for me.
User reviews are more useful.
Forums even more so.
And talking to the manufacturer.
Currently doing that with Bob from Mad Scientist.
Also chatted with the source for my items this year: Akiko Audio, Stack Audio, Puritan, Teddy Pardo.

The last upgrade I'm looking at are power cables.
Had a look at Mad Scientist's latest.
Reasonably priced for Bob's 'Black Magic Ultra.'
And he upgrades the older cables as well.
My pennies will possibly stretch a ways, so I could end up with four or five (of the best I can afford). For amp, Dac, DDC and streamer.
That's pretty darn close!

Sent my Mad Scientist power cables off to Bob today.
Four to be upgraded to the Black Magic Ultra, one to Black Magic.
And will get two new Black Magic Ultra cables.
That's power cables sorted.
I think I've almost finished.
