Just paid for an Uptone Audio USB Regen. After the usual Google search, found it was worth buying.
No need for it really though. But popped up for sale.
Main reason was it was only £14. Only a few coffees worth.

That's a good price for one of those. I don't think they're in production any more?

I thought the Puritan was a mains conditioner but looking at the blurb I'm not sure if it does regen -
"Rebalances the AC sine wave"

"Rebalances the AC sine wave" That's probably a euphemism for a balanced transformer.

"Rebalances the AC sine wave" That's probably a euphemism for a balanced transformer. So a more accurate description might be a "conditioning balanced power supply"?

Have just ordered a Tubulus Argentus i2S cable from Aldwin.
It's replacing an Audience AU24SX AES/EBU cable. It's not compatible with my system, refusing to play anything above 16/44.1 Will run from my Audio GD DI20HE DDC (ft Coherent Mods) to my Gustard A22 Dac (ft Coherent Mods).
The thinking is upgrading my i2S to be a reasonable move. The switch to the Tubulus will pretty much be a straight swap price wise. Will either be an upgrade or a sideways move, both of which I'm happy with.

Was considering a fibre optic converter, something like a Teradak T S-211. But upgrading 2-3 power cables, a power strip/plug box for the modem end, maybe trying a set or two of the Stack Audio Auva Eq, would be better use of my remaining funds.
If this is the end of my audio upgrades, I think I can be pretty happy with what I've got.

I'm thinking about trying a Tubulus clock cable, not that the Harmonic Technology Digital Copper III is sup-par, far from it.
I'm really down to any remaining bottlenecks now, but the system is pretty well balanced.

The Puritain devices are actually good, and are based on sound engineering practices

Ok I am opened minded to a great deal of 'left field' ideas for improving all forms of electronic circuits and RF communications. However, this idea of having some form of RJ45 re clocking circuit on the streaming input for remote control duties only (streaming for myself is a step backwards so this is purely used for controlling the play back files and lists plus truning the unit on and off, it already has a dual isolated RJ45 socket and galvanic circuitry so should be in theroy pretty immune) is somewhat (imho) BS, although I will have to admit having a device in the way does genuinelly give a positive difference.
This week I have been working on some various switch & ether reg upgrades for different clients, now all of these units have input for external ref clocks/DC power/grounding.
I only use one single outlet from the mobile router, the upshot is all of them make a difference, all positive, some more than others. in the test system it's NOT a big improvement, although it is noticeable.
This got me thinking, so with the aid of some nifty test fixtures, and RF monitoring equipment, I have managed to find some common denominators and this after have knocked up a very rough (I mean rough lol) to provide proof of concept.
It works and is repeatable and produces almost as much as the top switch I 've tried though my device is not active (yet). Interesting times ahead I feel

Do you mean the reclocked ethernet carries no music stream, Tony? That does sound a bit of a reach, unless the cleanup has the side-effect of helping the music stream elsewhere.

Yes I mean just the the control codes zero music, its utterly unpausable, however you need to thank a few of the chaps on Audiopuile style who suggested quite positively it does as they just play files only as well. they are hard core adamant.
However it is still a signal being transitted and recieved by the streamer head unit.
Hand on heart it is noticable, not earth shaking but noticeable its on the same lines as an andriod pad 'sounding better' than an apple one BS I know but I demonstrate it regularly and this isn NOT from streaming either just RC

The Puritan PSM156 mains purifier arrived yesterday. Finally had my amp ready to collect after 6 weeks. Ended up being dry joints.

Have my system set up (not ideal position), but most things in.
Puritan PSM156 has: Integrated amp, Dac, DDC, network switch linear power supply, streamer linear power supply, and Uptone USB Regen plugged in. Puritan Ultimate power cable to the 156.
Inadvertently listening to music, there is no change. As it was. Until...
...I assume the position. Critical listening.
After only 24 hours, certainly a noticeable improvement. Quieter background. Again, hearing details I had missed on well known tracks. A decent improvement already.
