New version 2.413 now available: system will survive a plug-in crash.
Needless to say, mine won't update. It's got to be the volspotconnect plug-in. I won't bother for a while.

I've reported it, see if Michelangelo can get to the problem. Otherwise I'll wait for the next serious bug fix version.

Log sent to Michelangelo in the hope that he can fix the issue. There is at least one other user with the same issue as me.

Well...Sod's law...my version of Volumio crashed last night so I had to download the new version/re-image etc etc.
All seems well now except that I cannot get it to see my music files on my NAS drive, (or even to recognise the NAS drive)
I took a screenshot of my old settings so I would know what to do with the the new version...but it doesn't work! I feel a numbty as I'm sure it's staring me in the face. I've tried various combinations but nothing works.
Please can someone help....?
Alias. Hi-Res IP address. 192.168.1. xxx Path. Hi-Res Music
cifs etc
In the previous version: Path: \\192.168.1.xxx\Hi-Res Music
(I can't see how to include pics on this forum).. Thanks,

For Linux you need to use / for path, not \.

Ah ok, I was remembering from a while ago. I used the NAS auto-finder this time and it just found it for me.

Ah, so it does still use / folder delimiters as I remembered.

Thanks everyone...after several fruitless hours the problem has been solved...
.my music/network drives..…..in options (under advanced options). Type in “vers=1.0”. (No quotes)
Hope this helps others!
Thanks again.

try editing the Alias in "My Music" and add vers=1.0 in the advanced options User avatar gkkpch Moderator Posts: 1233 Joined: Mon Dec 29 2014 22:38 Location: Bodensee, Switzerland)

I'm guessing that this is to do with the version of the SMB (samba) protocol... If so, I had exactly the same thing between a W10 machine and my NAS after a W10 update

That's because all the security updates for Windows 10 has deprecated SMB v1.0 as being too vulnerable to attack to be used. I had to remove and disable the feature from all our servers which rendered backups from two of our Linux appliances (Smoothwall and Barracuda) problematic.
It's probably ok to use SMB v1.0 in a domestic environment but should really be avoided, and definitely should be in a business environment.

I wonder if I'll still need to burn a new image? No word from Michelangelo about a fix.

Here we go again, v2.413 won't update to v2.444.
I'm trying a Factory Reset to see if I can skip the burn SD card step.
The answer is no, even after Factory Reset it's stuck forever at v2.413.

Needless to say, my installation (without Spotify) updated perfectly.

Where does this leave non techies ? It's undoubtedly because I'm using the volspotconnect plug-in by Balbuze. However, it's annoying as it causes a fundamental SNAFU in the OS that can only be resolved by re-burning the SD card. Don't worry, as you were.
