I hadn't moved to 2.669. I performed the update and you know how this story ends...

It went through fine for me, as usual. Have you actually logged your situation as a bug, Martin?

I did a long time ago but I guess it's long forgotten. I cannot think of a single mechanism for why it should fail except through the MyVolumio account. I will try to log it again (although the Volumio forum is poorly organised).

... (although the Volumio forum is poorly organised). It's not just me then?

I'm trying to update to Volumio 2.673. It says it's been successful and is rebooting.
When it comes up... it's still on 2.657.
There has been no offer of help on the forum.

Interesting. I've just updated and Volumio is telling me I'm on the latest version now, but it's still identified as 2.671. Sound familiar, Martin?

Paul or Martin can one of you explain or show a link to explain how to get more out of Volumio. When it comes to using PUTTY I am a complete novice. If you think better for me to not worry about this I will understand.

Paul - yes, sounds ominously familiar. There's another person on the forum has the same experience, too.
John - no need with the Tinker Board, just configure Volumio. You can forget about SSH and PuTTY.

Cheers Martin I checked all my settings I had to make a few adjustments 1 in Volumio and 1 in Spotify System sounding better than ever. Not sure how Spotify was not on high quality, perhaps with some upgrade the settings did not get transferred

Just to recap on best Volumio settings for Tinker Board S version sound quality (probably good for Pi version, too):
- Volume Normalization: Off - Mixer Type: None - Audio Resampling: Off - Wireless Networking: Off - User Interface via HDMI: Off - If using Qobuz, Sound Quality: FLAC Hi-Res 24-bit up to 192 kHz (not Highest Possible)

It also looks like the Spotify plug-in has an Authorize button to pull your playlists and favourites in, rather than faffing around with the index.js file replacement.

I've just put 2.657 on a 32GB card. Now to reconfigure everything again. On the next version update, I shall try the OTA update and we'll see where we are.

This is odd. I've just fired up Volumio for the first time in four or five days, and it's now showing the correct version number. I've done nothing to it.

I like the new full-featured Spotify with the Authorize button. It brings your playlists and other Spotify curated lists in.
