Keep us updated Steve.
My diet has improved slowly over the years. Used to be very bad Hardly ate any veg at all, never drank water, biscuits galore, chocolate often, meat burgers a favorite, cow milk by the pint, a few trips to the pub a week up to 6 pints of beer. I'm now 99.9% vegan, occasionally miss ingredients on some items and feel better than many times from when I was much younger

That was certainly not a good diet Mike but going vegan doesn't have to be the answer for us all ... Having a much better balanced diet and doing all those bike rides would sort out most of us.
Glad it works for you though. Objecting to eating meat on ethical grounds a completely different matter of course.

Went vegetarian for ethical reasons, gradually becoming vegan for the same
Any health benefits are a great bonus

I've no intention of "going veggie" but I do like to mix and match with some vegetarian meals. I do love a nice vegetarian pizza, for instance, although I usually end up bunging extra peppers and cheese on them. I make a decent vegetable curry too, although I'm just as likely to use meat, or seafood. As I mentioned earlier, Sainsbury's vegan coleslaw is now my first choice, and I'm looking forward to trying their vegan potato salad. They also sell soups manufactured by Glorious! and the Indian Sweet Potato and Coconut Daal Soup (vegan) is delicious. My "go to" sliced bread is now either Vogel's Soya & Linseed, or Seeded Wholemeal which are both "suitable for vegetatians" or Burgen Soya & Linseed, which is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. I hardly ever use butter, and when I do it's mostly on. or in, potato dishes. Otherwise I'll use Sainsbury's Butterlicious Spread, which my late wife worked out was the best for her heart, it's vegetarian-friendly too. That's good enough for me. I don't fry, I grill, or griddle, using a Cuisinart Griddle... ...which drains a scary amount of fat and crap out of a few sausages, or rashers of bacon. My other "tool is a Ninja Air Fryer... Frozen chips, if I'm feeling incredibly lazy, require no fat, or oil, whatsoever. Things like sausages, or "proper" chips get a spritz of Avocado oil. Excess fats drain off through the raised grille/platform as seen in the pic above. It not only air fries, but also, roasts, reheats, and can even dehydrate things like fruit. There you go. Other than very, very, rarely touching alcohol these days that's about as healthy as I get.

Good bits of kit those Paul, I was looking at that Cuisinart ages ago and will take another look.
My mother in law uses a very similar air fryer, it's much healthier for sure. Would have bought one if it wasn't so big but maybe recent designs are more compact.

The "Ninja" comes in two sizes, Jules. I've got the smaller 3.8L model. Size H34.5, W27.9, D33.8cm.
I should probably have mentioned, the plates on the Cuisinart are reversible, and the other sides are flat. Handy for popping them in the dishwasher too, along with the little device that catches the fat run off.

I notice that Ninja also make a very nice looking blender / soup maker! This is one way I have started to eat more veg - I really enjoy decent vegetarian soups ... Just don't know where I could put it though.

This is what I'd like to have bought when I got the fryer, The Ninja Foodi, but I eventually had to admit that it was too big for my kitchen. It combines the air fryer with a pressure cooker and a slow cooker and more...

This non cook uses a steamer and an oven. I'm exploring food ATM and will get onto using a few of the gadgets we have
Some of the soups the boss rarely makes are wonderful

A food ATM. Is that one of those things they had on Star Trek?!

Gosh, the perfect 'kitchen' for the solo man! Indeed it is. If my slow cooker ever breaks down I may reconsider it. I can't live without the slow cooker. Throw stuff in, turn it on, go to bed, wake up to a delicious stew/curry/whatever. I even use lining bags so I don't have to put the main "pot" in the dishwasher, and all the leavings stay in the bag and go straight in the bin. It's the lazy cook's dream.

I like the sound of that

I finally got my hands on some Sainsbury's Vegan Potato Salad this weekend, and it's definitely preferable to their "ordinary" potato salad.

is there a price difference ? I hadn't looked, but yes. The vegan works out at 30p per pot more expensive, or 10p per 100g. It's the same for the coleslaw.

I tried a vegan sausage roll from Greggs today. It wasn’t half bad.
