Look around for any Frys food. They do far more than Tesco sell so you may find your supermarket of choice has a bigger range fryfamilyfood.com/uk/Good prices too for cheapskates like me and perhaps your good self Hmm Sainsburys do slightly different Frys items. 2nd jab done and some more freedom might see me popping in there

I'm trying (hopefully, if they're actually in stock) a couple of new chilled ready meals from Sainsbury's this week. Hi Five Sri Lankan Vegan Gobi Curry 487gA Sri Lankan style curry made with coconut milk & mixed spices, with 5 portions of fruit & veg made from mangoes, cauliflowers, red peppers, courgettes and spinach. Hi Five Italian Arrabiata with Chickpea Pasta 410gA spicy Italian style Arrabiata sauce made with 5 portions of veg including tomatoes, courgettes, carrots, green peppers, mushrooms and pasta made from chickpeas. Both state that they are "5 of your five a day". There's also a " Hi Five Chickpea & Turmeric Cauliflower Chana Masala Curry 488g" in the range. Maybe next week.

Back to a Ginsters Moroccan Vegetable Pasty with Tideford Organics Moroccan Spiced Chickpea Soup tonight, although looking at the sunshine I'm beginning to wish I'd ordered some salad rather than the soup.

I've had two of those Sainsbury's "High Five" meals that I mentioned above, and they were both pretty good. I had the Italian Arrabiata with Chickpea Pasta tonight and the pasta was just a tiny bit too al dente for me, but nowhere near hard enough to put me off. The whole thing had plenty of flabour, and decent-sized pieces of veg in it. I was nicely spicy too, like Arrabiata ought to be.
Last week I had the Chickpea & Turmeric Cauliflower Chana Masala Curry (Twice; thanks to the inventive substitutions from Sainsbury's) and again it was packed with flavour, very mild and almost Dal-like in texture. I'd have liked some bigger chunks of veg so sink my teeth into, but like the Arrabiata it's something I'll have again. I've still got the Sri Lankan Vegan Gobi Curry in the fridge for later on in the week. Two out of three tasted and recommended so far.

With the increased horizon increasing different foods to improve my biome I have become far more open to all sorts of new to me veg and the like
Must push into more exotic sounding grub and ingredients

Broadening your horizons is the way to go, Mike, to avoid becoming mindlessly bored with the same old meals over and over again. No matter how much you like something its appeal can erode over time. If those "Hi Five" products are anything to go by the vegan "ready-meal," market is coming on in leaps and bounds. Obviously, one doesn't want microwaved meals 7-days-a-week, but to break the week's menu up they're perfect; doubly so for a single bloke like myself who is cooking for one all week.

I'm happy with what I have, but ought to broaden those horizons. The amount of Vegan ready meals has increased immensely. My idea is to gravitate towards making meals with ingredients - as long as dead simple. Hey, I might even get into real cooking
