Verdict: Quite tasty, although I prefer the topping on their Sweet Balsamic Onion Quiche. That might well have voided its vegan-ness (veganity?) though as the Onion quiche is "only" Vegetarian Society Approved. There's a nicely balanced herbiness to it, which is not overpowering and the oat and coconut milk filling didn't particularly taste of coconut. I'd definitely buy it again when I fancy something a bit different.

Always remember when I went veggie in the 80s a lot of eateries and food companies tried extra hard to give something really good. That often seems to be the case now with vegan and veggie grub

I like the Higgidy fare a lot - nice occasional change from meat and fish for us.

I've sort of decided that my major dislike about vegan/vegetarian food is when it "pretends" to be some sort of meat. It's never going to taste like it, so why bother? Yes it may attract some of us omnivores, but it's mostly a one-time thing. I've tried lots of "fake meats" and very rarely have I ever bought the same thing again. If it's made from vegetables, celebrate that, and please don't try to con me into believing it tastes like bacon. Likewise I've tried several variations on "shroomdogs", and never yet found one I liked because they all seem to be masquerading as Cumberland sausages and the like. Having said that, I will try Sainsbury's own "Love Your Veg" range Cumberland Shroomdogs which are very well reviewed. They'll need to be a bit special to take the place of my favourite Jolly Hog Porky Black Sausages though, or any of the Jolly Hog range really.

The Chili con Carne I made from Quorn a couple of weeks ago? I made it in the same loving way I always do (my chilis go down well). It was ok, but in no way could it be mistaken for the real thing. Disappointing.

I'm not that keen on Quorn Other, similar items are nicer and cheaper too
Fry's products are all wonderful, what I've had so far anyway

Had a favourite of ours last night - Waitrose chickpea, spinach and quinoa.
Awesome stuff!

I tried one of these yesterday... ...Butternut squash, chickpeas, apricot, dates, red piquanté pepper in a red Harissa and Moroccan Chermoula sauce with potato, onion, tomato and spring onion, wrapped in light puff pastry. Like most things when looked at through the lens of advertising, it doesn't live up to its nicely presented list of ingredients, but that being said it was rather nice. It had plenty of flavour, and was pleasantly moist. I paid a quid when they were on offer, but the rrp is £1.75. I'll probably have another one next time they're on offer. I have a "Vegan Quorn Roll" to try today, also from Ginsters.

The Quorn roll wasn't as nice as the "real" sausage rolls, but I'll be interested to hear your verdict on the Moroccan Pasty, Mike.

Ginsters' Moroccan Vegetable Pasties are on offer again, at Sainsbury's for a quid each. I thought I'd stick with vegan and try a pot of " Tideford Organics Moroccan Spiced Chickpea Soup," to go with them. Two pasties and the soup are ordered for Saturday delivery. That should make a nice, warming dinner.

I was with him right until he described the taste of cheese as just "grease on the tongue".
No. Good cheese is one of the most wonderful tastes available to the palate.
