Great comeback from Lewis. Shame he walked away from the grid interviews, I don’t think that shows him in a good light and he really should be a little more humble sometimes.
I also don’t believe any of this nonsense abut Ferrari purposely taking him out, why would they??

Super drive from Hamilton to come from last to 2nd. Very lucky that the shunt from Raikkonen did not leave him with a DNF which would have been very damaging to his title chances.
He wears his heart on his sleeve AND is very hard on himself which is often misunderstood - It is clear he was very disappointed with himself and how things turned out. He wanted the win of course but also for the fans and thats genuine.
'Humble' means showing a modest or low estimate of one's importance. This wasnt a case of him thinking of himself highly or important. I saw dissapointed and down and that he needed a few mins to just collect himself which he did.
His start was very very poor and at the end of the day was why he was where he was when he got hit - He has to look at that and sort it quickly (not the first time his starts have been an issue).
He and Vettel are likely to be P1 P2 throughout the season, Vettel clearly knows his starts are generally better / faster and the place to snatch it.
Hamilton has to stop this being where all Saturday's hard work is undone - could cost him the title too.
The Ferrari is the slightly better car now I'd say. Vettel knows he's pretty much right up there with the Mercs and is loving his car / is confident.
Merc and Ham know thay have work to do.....

Kimi got in touch with Lewis personally to sort things out. Lewis now accept that it wasn't a Ferrari instigated action plan.

I wonder what Hamilton meant by "interesting tactics"? Did he really think that Raikkonen taking him off was deliberate? Is it not beyond the realms of possibility that an agreement before the race could’ve taken place where if Raikkonen was anywhere near Hamilton at any point, he was to sacrifice himself for the benefit of his team mate, and for the team that’s going to be writing his job references in the near future...

You could be right David, but I doubt it, there is too much risk involved, Raikkonen could have gone out of the race and why would Ferrari want him to risk that, given their position in the Constructors Championship?

I doubt it, personally.

Just saying - that possibility is there, and all the more common in all forms of sports nowadays.

Hehe, bit late.. Lewis re-signs with Merc for two years.
I've not kept abreast of all the movements. Would not sit well with the fingermeister at Ferrari if Kimi did throw in the towel, so staying with a known competitive quantity is probably the best thing..

I honestly think Lewis will retire after the next two years.
Leclerc to Ferrari? Stroll to Force India? Will Vandoorn and Sainz stay put?

Absolutely superb win from Hamilton. Raikkenon said it was very difficult. All things considered has to rank right up there with LH's best performances and Merc thought so too - His race engineer said 'Miracles do happen' which just goes to show how Merc felt it was stacked way against, going into the race.

Great race by Lewis, although now he’s under investigation for the incident where he crossed the grass after going towards the pits. Hopefully it’ll sort itself out in his favour!

Would be a shame if the win is taken after such a great drive. 5 seconds would put him second, sad but has to be better than a DNF or still behind Vettel so I think he'd take it and see it as a plus after yesterday and P14. I hope he doesnt lose the win but some will moan their heads off if he doesnt get some pen of some kind, such is life

Superb race. I was shouting at the screen "don't bring him in" at the safety car and luckily (by the skin of his teeth) he didn't. A reprimand seems appropriate.
Once the safety car came in, I had the impression he was simply NOT going to have the win taken from him no matter what. It's the Lewis of old and great to see!

Superb pole from Lewis today under difficult conditions, he really is the rain master.
Should make for an interesting race tomorrow, especially if it’s dry.

Lewis Hamilton - rainmeister. Superb pole!
Tomorrow will be a fight keeping the Ferraris behind them.
