Yes, I thought that. If Renault disclosed to Ricciardo what their plans are in the same way that Mercedes did to Hamilton, it might have been very convincing. Ricciardo would also be a clear No.1 driver rather than constantly being in Verstappen's shadow (even though he is better).

Agreed, although let’s see how Hulk does against him, he’s done much better than I thought again Sainz, who I think has lost a bit of his something or other this year.

I like Sainz although he has lost his shine this year.
However, when he last drove with Verstappen he was every bit his equal.
Strange how the pairings work, like how Ricciardo destroyed Vettel.

What this means is that Daniel is going to throw everything at the remaining races with zero chance of him accepting any team orders to let Max through.

Good! He's superb to watch when he's in bullish mood.

One of Hamilton's epic drives in the wet today to snatch pole when it was looking a dead cert for Ferrari.
I can't believe Ocon may not have a drive for next year. All because of Stroll.

Can you recollect from memory when you last saw Hamilton not getting pole position once it started to rain? I didn't doubt for one second that he had anything to fear from Ferrari once the heavens opened up.

The pace of that Ferrari bodes badly for Hamilton's chances now. He will need every bit of guile to win even one more race of those left.

Good advert for Halo on the first corner incident.

I hope Mercedes can find out what the Ferrari trickery is and replicate it, otherwise I think it will be an easy Championship win for Vettel now.

It's an astonishing bit of development they've had in the past six months. To make the mighty Mercedes engine look a bit second-hand is quite an achievement.

It's an astonishing bit of development they've had in the past six months. To make the mighty Mercedes engine look a bit second-hand is quite an achievement. Indeed! Mercedes know theyve been on the back foot for a while now and are struggling to close the gap. Ferrari have had a great car for a while which has responded amazingly to its upgrades. Ferrari will know this should be the year for them after so long. Massive challenge now for LH44 and Mercedes. Hard for an LH44 fan like myself as I'd like to see him nail 5 before Vetel. Still credit to Ferrari for what theyve produced.

That was possibly the closest qualifying ever. Talk about tight!
Hamilton looked to have grabbed pole only for Vettel and Raikkonen to pip him. You've got to hand it to the Finn, incredible lap.

Very good lap by Raikkonen, interesting how Vettel reacted over the radio.
Hopefully the race will be just as close.

That was an excellent win and what could be quite significant points lead, for the remainder of the season

I really think that was one of the wins of his career. The way he got past Vettel and then ground Raikonnen down in spite of his deficit in power. Great mental strength and determination. Whatever happens at the end of the season, he will be remembered for doing this on Ferrari's home ground.

That was fantastic. Hamilton sticking it to the disrespectful Tifosi. Awesome.
