Thanks DPD for choosing not to bring my new dehumidifier up to my door even though I asked them to. Disappeared like Keyser Söze.

Royal Mail has kindly entered me in a lottery, for an unknown prize, for just £2.50. I got a card through the door with this morning's post (along with the Christmas card my mum sent me, and the customised Christmas cards I ordered from Funky Pigeon) explaining that RM had something destined for me that they could not deliver as the sender had not paid the full amount of postage, and would I kindly give then £2.50 please? It seems £1.50 was paid when it should have been more and the extra also includes a " handling charge" just to rub it in. Now, I've got (as far as I can recall) nothing outstanding that I've ordered, other than a couple of books I bought yesterday, and no clue is given as to who the sender might be. So what is this mystery parcel? Apparently, I get to find out on Thursday. The same day, coincidentally I shall be shaming and embarrassing whoever has sent whatever to me.

I remember Postage Due stamps, a whole area of philately dedicated to underpaying idiots.

Postage due stamps vaguely ring a bell
Today bell rings 3 or 4 times, maybe 5 then again, very long ring Dogs beyond mental. No way Madam can move fast enough I get to the front door to see a white van driver pointing urgently at the front door. Wonder what on earth this is ?
Just an Amazon delivery Highly amusing

I'm expecting two parcels today: the one that should arrive safely is the Three router via DPD.
The one that is pure lottery is my LMR-400 cable via Evri.

I remember the days when "due for delivery today" by RM actually meant you would get it same day ... Sighs.

The router arrived, as expected.

EVRi actually delivered a parcel today, inside our building rather than next door too. Mind, they first said there would be a delay. Then they 'tried' to deliver, but apparently we weren't in (commercial premises at 11:00 AM on a Tuesday!) and then today actually dropped it off. If I am right it will be 4 circuit boards and housings for electronic lead-screw control of lathes (syncing them with the spindle speed electronically via an encoder and servo drive rather than change wheels).

This is the very latest tracking info for a parcel I was expecting from Evri. Their tracking system is next to useless, as you can see. It apprently arrived at their depot twice, six days apart, and both times it was " delayed" for reasons unknown. A neighbour has just brought it in for me as it had been dumped outside my building, yet again. No " it's been delivered," email, no proof of delivery photo on their site, not even an acknowledgement that it was ever out for delivery just another eVri " dump 'n' run". If I didn't have nice neighbours I'd never even have known it was there, and it would most likely have been stolen eventually.

My latest Evri status is "Courier has it".
Previous status was "Your parcel is on its way to you today".
Make of that what you will.

Latest message from Evri "We've got your Cai Niao Premium parcel and we're delivering it today between 14:30 and 16:30."
I have no idea who Cai Niao are. Is it an anagram to keep me amused?

The Ace Ventura clip is too funny.
My RM parcel has been "due for delivery" for three days. Presumably they still have huge backlogs - what a complete cluster ...

Christophe from Evri couldn't find our place. Or there was a customs charge. Or they had lost the fact I had already registered a safe place with them. Or he was running late and went home with my package. Whatever, today's another day, another Evri lottery.
