Our postie is brilliant
Occasionally rings for a signature, otherwise leaves in the porch

My sister in the US sent me an important document I need for Power of Attorney via Fedex and it got stuck at Alton. Luckily she sent me a photo of the receipt and I could see that she had made an error in line 1 of our address. It caused Fedex to put it on hold as they could not get a postcode address match. Not their fault.
I couldn't speak to a human and the voice chatbot is laughably useless. I then went online and used the chatbot window there to ask to chat with a person and then I got the lovely Marta who was very helpful, took all the details and raised a case to change the delivery address. Well done Fedex!
I was wondering how difficult, verging on impossible, this would be to achieve with Evri, Yodel or DPD without going round in circles?

... I was wondering how difficult, verging on impossible, this would be to achieve with Evri, Yodel or DPD without going round in circles? Your first problem is getting someone at those companies to talk to you. The second problem is getting them to admit that #1 You exist, and #2 that they exist. It only gets worse from there on in.

Great job DPD - got an email saying they would deliver this morning 07:57-08:57 and they came at 8.30. I've found these guys to have upped their game these days, much more reliable than years past. Maybe the local courier is just more reliable too ...

Maybe the local courier is just more reliable too ... I've found DPD to be one of the better services. My only problem with then is that they often deliver at (what is to me) some ungodly hour in the morning.

Another textbook DPD delivery (Amazon), this time in Manchester for my mum. They must be the most improved courier in my experience.

Slow answering the door bell I saw a lady walking over to put a parcel over the side gate, rather than leaving it in the porch as I hadn't answered fast enough
Through her broken English I managed to work out that this was her idea of a safer place So that explains that one Amazon but she may also deliver for all sorts

After being complimentary about DPD recently I wasn't too happy with them today. The driver turned up on time, so that was good, but as I answered the door he put my parcel down outside the front door to photograph it. He could see me standing there with my walking stick in one hand, but he just turned on his heel and buggered off. It would have cost him 5 seconds to pick it up and hand it to me. As it was my new AV amp I couldn't exactly pick it up one-handed so I had to manoeuvre it inside one handed. I wasn't best pleased, shall we say.

Oddly enough I find drivers, when ringing the bell nearly always insist placing in my hands which I would prefer not to happen Ever since Covid if I bring things in I wash my hands after

I ordered mum's Mother's Day card yesterday afternoon, from Funky Pigeon. I paid for their " supersized" product, which is delivered by Evri. See, now you know why I ordered it early. It arrived this morning. Not only that, but the chocolates I ordered at the same time, from Funky Pigeon again, were delivered this afternoon, by Royal Mail. I think I need a bit of a lie down now.

DHL Germany that for some reason has been given to Parcelfarce That's a distinct drop in quality. Wonder if your package felt the thump?

Watched a white van pause on the road outside, well past our gate Bet that's another delivery for madam
He backs up the road Shortly after he delivers to our front door
The road must be much more worn up to our gate due to a million van deliveries

Another parcel arrived from AliExpress. This one was six days. Through customs as well.
I have Temu to thank for that.
Took 11 days to get my Furutech IEC today from Australia.
