"Post Office to send and receive Evri and DPD parcels" - BBC News Who thinks this is a good idea? Evri and DPD already have a zillion places you can drop-off parcels. I can't see the value in it - all the agent does is scan a barcode. How is the Post Office going to add to this? I don't buy into this novel concept of their "expertise" ... www.bbc.com/news/business-67336778i think the key thing is you can buy the service over the counter. No rebooking. So more than just drop off.

I have a new Evri tactic - if I notice that they are the courier for something I want, I’m going to have it delivered to a local collection point to avoid the pain of dealing with failed deliveries to home etc Fingers crossed, let’s see if the current delivery goes smoothly.

Good luck. It's not a lot of use to me as the nearest collection point is 4 miles and across a motorway away!

Same sort of thing for me, it's not really do-able as it would cost me cab fares there and back.

Well it's definitely the way forward for me.
Evri delivered later than their stated window today but no bother to me - when I got notification I went to the BP garage down the road in my own time and collected without issue.
So much better than the clusterfk of home delivery.

I can see how that would work for you. Good solution.

The usual perfect service from DPD this morning. " Your parcel will arrive between 10:58 and 11:50 and will be delivered by our driver Philip" and it arrived (along with Philip) at 11:05. It was a parcel delivered on behalf of Amazon, who have left me somewhat confused. I bought a couple of Ninja kettles as Christmas presents, and because I paid for them to be wrapped etc. I had to make two orders, as the names of the eventual recipients - part of the gift options - were different. Two orders for the same product, placed quite literally seconds apart, and this was one of them. The other is still slated to be delivered between the 28 th and 29 th of November, as was this one originally. Why couldn't they just send them both together? [EDIT] This is all going far too well. Evri quoted me a window of " between 3pm and 4 pm" and at 1 minute past 3 Graham has just turned up with my parcel from Jacamo. I have one more delivery today, from Amazon " between 4 PM & 8 PM". Can I get the hat-trick?

Bought brass bar from a supplier I've used before many times. Royal Fail!😱
Got email saying they'd received it. Then sat in 'dispatched' state for 2 weeks. Nudged the firm and they said they sent another out 1st class. Didn't get any email this time. Waited 1.5 weeks. They confirmed they did dispatch a 2nd item - I have my doubts.. Recovered money.
Bought from elsewhere. They sent it .... Royal mail😱😱😱! Got the email and it arrived this time, on time.
Wonder if I'll ever receive the first 2?🙄
Ties up with Royal Fail bring fined £5m+ by the regulator for crap service.

Do these Ninja kettles just mysteriously appear in your kitchen, Paul?

Do these Ninja kettles just mysteriously appear in your kitchen, Paul? They come and go in a mysterious manner, leaving silent death and destruction behind them. I bought them as Christmas presents though, they're obviously far too dangerous to have in my own kitchen.

I think it may try to electrocute you at some point, then disappear mysteriously.

Amazon actually failed to deliver the other day for the first time in living memory - maybe it's the run-up to Xmas putting a spanner in the works.

Amazon have proudly delivered my latest package, it states in their e-mail, complete with a photo of not-my-door

I *think* that door is one of my neighbours so I'll give them until tonight to drop it off otherwise it's the Amazon circle-of-doom attempting to tell the system my delivery was not successful.

After lots of perfect deliveries from Amazon and Evri I found an Amazon delivery down by the front gate this morning when I went to get the bin I had a " dump and run" from Amazon this morning, and yesterday the trainee Amazon driver had a choice of two parcels, and handed me the wrong one, despite being in front of my front door, with big brass numbers on. Graham, and Evri however, earned a five-star review from me on Trust Pilot this week.

I was very relieved that an unknown neighbour dropped off both the lost Amazon and UPS parcels by our gate this morning. This is good as neither have any reporting process for "you think you've delivered my parcel successfully but you haven't".
I find it incomprehensible that we went to a great deal of trouble mounting a nice slate plaque at the front gates with a big number '2' and the house name on it and, similarly, I bought chrome lettering for our post box on the rear gate including '2' and yet we still get deliveries for number '1' and others get our packages!
