You think you have issues?
Remember that tungsten cube I ordered recently?
It arrived this evening. Delivered by Evri. Only it has transformed into a fishing net.

The worst part is, I accepted that statement without a second thought. Was the address correct, or are Evri just delivering random parcels now, to clear their backlog?

I can hardly believe this: I found another label on the external packaging. The fishing net was destined for a chap in Essex and he probably has my cube. The useless POS company that is Evri can't even get something as simple as labelling correct.
After trying almost everything to get the machine generated chat to understand my problem before it said it couldn't help me (let's not call it AI, it was written in BASIC by a teenager in his mummy's bedroom), I finally have an incident number by e-mail. But not the expected phone call.
If the CEO of Evri was in front of me right now, I would not be responsible for what happens next.

Are we taking bets on how long it takes Evri to ask you if you fancy driving to Essex, Martin?

Remember City Link, at the time the absolute worst courier company in existence? They deservedly went bust. Is it too early to start campaigning for Evri's demise? Or will they just self-implode, helping us all to a happier future?

Evri really aren't helping themselves. I feel a letter to the CEO coming on (as if he'd give a damn). Trustpilot may also be invoked.
'Sophie' has replied to me, after I had sent photos of both labels and a description of the item inside, "could you check with any other members of your household, neighbours and / or safe places at the delivery address to locate the parcel."

This is the frustration of dealing with such companies - it's as though you are speaking to a bot and not a real person. Surely a real person would have read your comments and not come back with such a ridiculously misplaced question? Unless their goal is just to reply very quickly with a stock phrase, whether relevant or not. It's possible they are dealing with so many complaints this is what happens. Pure conjecture on my part ...

I think " Sophie" is Evri's version of AI, running on a 48K Spectrum. Try " Close the pod bay doors, Sophie" and see what the response is. I once tried to leave a bad review for Evri on Trustpilot - no swearing, not over the top, just detailing the facts of the case, and my displeasure - and Trustpilot rejected it.

Unless their goal is just to reply very quickly with a stock phrase, whether relevant or not. It's possible they are dealing with so many complaints this is what happens. Pure conjecture on my part ... Your post reminds me of an IT support company who promised to have a man on-site within X number of hours of a support call. What they failed to mention was that said " man" was, perhaps, one level above a tea-boy. He couldn't actually fix anything, and just poked around a bit before telling the user that the job would need to be allocated to a " senior" technician, who would be with them " shortly" which meant anything up to two-or-three days. They had, however, met their commitment of having a man on-site in double-quick time. " Surely a real person would have read your comments and not come back with such a ridiculously misplaced question?" A couple of points here: #1 - A lot depends on whether the support person's first language is English. #2 - First line support workers typically do not have the knowledge, or the tools, to actually diagnose and rectify problems. They literally have a flow diagram to work through, which means choosing the starting point they deem " close enough" to the original query, or their favourite, or, if they really don't understand the query, a random point.

Dear Martin, I am so sorry to hear that you did not receive the correct items in your parcel H00RVA0221273237 and it has been received with two labels on, I sincerely apologise for this situation. I have investigated the journey of this parcel and I can see that, unfortunately, it was incorrectly re-labelled on 21st of August and therefore someone else's parcel was sent to you. I cannot apologize enough for this error and for the inconvenience this is causing you, please accept my sincere apologies for this situation. In regards to the initial parcel, unfortunately we are unable to locate the items since they were mislabelled and therefore we must class them as lost. Please contact the retailer of this parcel for next steps as we’ve been unable to deliver your parcel on this occasion, as the agreement that you now have in place is between you and them. They will, in return, contact our claims department with the relevant information regarding the parcel so that we can compensate them. This is the only option we have moving forward regarding our claims process and the fastest way to get the issue rectified. Martin, I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by this as well for the initial lack of delivery of the item, I can appreciate this will undoubtedly be a disappointing outcome for you. Each parcel goes through several handling and transportation processes and on rare occasions, this may happen. Thank you for your patience on this matter. If you need anything else in the future, please contact your Evri Customer Service Team and we’ll be happy to help. Kind regards, Claudia Evri Customer Resolution Advisor

And my response...
Dear Claudia
Are you not even going to contact the other person on the label to see if he has my Tungsten cube? I probably have his fishing net.
Your response strikes me as evading any action and ACTION is what I want to see. Asking me to go back to Amazon when the fault is entirely with Evri is unacceptable. Don't give me excuses and ask me to resolve it, YOU take action, get a driver to call there and call at mine and swap the packages.
That's the least action I expect and so far, you have done precisely nothing. You have telephone numbers, so make some calls.
If I don't have assurances of some action on your part I'm going to be escalating this to your CEO.
Regards
