I searched bit couldn't find a thread on cheeses so I thought i would start one.
I have always enjoyed English cheeses, with Leicester and Cheshire being favourites. I've never been a fan of French (stinky) cheeses and I thought that I probably wouldn't like other foreign cheeses. Spending time in Greece and Cyprus inevitably led to Feta which I can take or leave, but recently I've found three that I really do like:
Rodopi is a Bulgarian white cheese superficially similar to feta but without that "sweaty" flavour that ruins it. Very earthy and satisfying.
Halloumi is a hard cheese you need to grill but is so satisfying it's unreal. If I have it with grilled meat, I actually go for the Halloumi first.
Anari is made from the whey left over from Halloumi and is superficially similar to Ricotta. It comes salted and unsalted and can be used in recipes, as a base for a sweet breakfast or salted and grilled like Halloumi. I just can't get enough of grilled Anari right now.
Anyone else got a cheese liking they want to share?

That's not cheese, it's plastic and what they call cheese analogue.
Nasty stuff

We both love cheese and have it after many meals. Cambazola, Gruyere, Comte, Stilton, St Agure are all wonderful but there are so many!
They often serve grilled Halloumi at work and I always go for it.

I have come to like and appreciate more and more cheeses as I have aged, when I was a child I only really liked Mild Cheddar and Edam, but these days I like all sorts.
Whenever we go out for a meal, I will always choose cheese as a pudding option.

I'm not sure I can think of many cheeses I don't like (apart from anything processed or in a tube), not so keen on Goats cheese though. Currently loving Snowdonia Cheese Companies Red Devil I prefer strong flavoured cheese, Gorgonzola is a particular favourite, especially the one from the Harrods Food Hall, that's outrageously good. The list would be endless TBH.

My favourites are Cornish Yarg, Manchego and Pecorino ..
I'd like to try the Cornish Kern - 'World Champion Cheese'!

Believe it or believe it not I was going to start exactly this thread later on tonight. Sainsbury's "Taste The Difference" Shropshire Red - lovely, slightly crumbly, full flavoured red cheese. The best English cheese I've tasted in a long time. Pie d'Angloys (from Sainsbury's again) - Creamy, soft, and perfect on toasted sourdough bread. You cannot have too much on a slice of toast, only too little. As Martin mentioned Halloumi, try it in place of a burger in a nice Brioche burger bun, or even on top of a burger in a bun if you can get your mouth round it.

As the main contributor to a cheese thread in another place, I've been missing it quite a bit since TAS was born. I've resisted starting one myself for various reasons but now the forum is perfect - thank you Andrew!

I'm another who doesn't understand the concept "too much cheese"
I think really good cheddar and stilton are hard to beat.
But I also enjoy mountain cheeses and we have ski restaurants do great raclette and fondue savoyard.
Comte is probably my favourite ski cheese. We also have Tomme locally.
But if i am doing the Monty python sketch - "I like it runny"- then a good epoise for me

Cheeses I don't like are the ones that have been ruined by putting stuff in them that's not cheese - apricots, cranberries, marmite, black pudding...you know the kind of thing. My favourite cheese at the moment (for a few years now, actually) is Appleby's Chesire from Shrewsbury. It's an unpasteurised cheese and is bleedin' superb.
