Any other suggestions for a good 5.2 - 5.4" Android phone costing around £200 max?
The Honor 6X is looking to be my favourite at the moment.

Thanks, Jules, I'll take a look. Good battery life is important to me, how does it rate?

Awesome. I get six days from a charge with doing some internet and emails each day.

I've made a decision and ordered an LG Q6. I even managed to persuade my company to buy it for me. After all, I use it as much for business as leisure.

Is it right they only cost around £180 to buy ? If not how much ?
Way less than Apple, surprise !

Yes, around that. Way less than Apple, as you say.
I always buy phones and use my SIM-only contract. £16 for 12GB per month.

You can get SIM-only contracts down to a fiver or so if you're not going to use much data. It's important to choose a service provider with a decent signal in your area. Nothing worse than a mobile that doesn't work at home.

Even more interesting. Why use a mobile at home ?

Even more interesting. Why use a mobile at home ? Don't people call you on your mobile? They can't know if you're at home so they may call your mobile. You can even canel your home phone... Why have a home phone when you get unlimited calls on a mobile?

Don't use a mobile so they can't ring me. Need home line for the broadband. Mobile reception at home is poor. Some networks don't work unless they go in the garden. One or two networks may not work at all here. Have not investigated mobile and dongle for home. Sounds like too much tech and will go wrong as soon as I touch it.

Even more interesting. Why use a mobile at home ? It's the closest thing to an always-on device. You can make and receive calls, check your messages, read the news, read TAS in the garden. You're not tied to wi-fi.

If you can get indoor mobile reception you don't need a fixed line phone. You don't need to pay for a fixed line phone package to get broadband even over a wired connection. The world has moved on.

Rarely need any type of phone. Most comms are done on email. Currently have a fix on phone and broadband, up in around a year. What would I need for that gives me broadband without the line ? -and add a mobile os I had a phone

You can get for example Vodafone broadband (fibre) with up to 38Mb, this has no line rental and costs £22.50 per month. Then get a SIM only contract for a mobile at say £15 per month (less is possible). Total is therefore £37.50 per month plus the price of a mobile phone. I expect if you shop around you could get the figure down closer to £30 per month plus £150 to £200 for a smart phone.

Thanks Clive
Worth looking at seriously toward the end of our price fix. Could well be an even better deal by then

If you have a mobile you want it to work everywhere. It's one reason I switched from O2 to BT (EE).
If you don't have a mobile, you probably don't understand what I'm talking about.
