Fast chargers will reduce your battery life. Charge slowly overnight Apparently one should never let them run completely out of juice either. Recharge at between 25% and 35% is what I read recently.

Quick report on my new Poco M5S.
Unbelievable value for money at around £130!
Decent AMOLED screen, 4gb + 128gb and everything works really quickly. Camera is adequate. Once you disable the adverts it's pretty clean Android. It has dual stereo speakers on top and bottom do an impression of stereo, it's ok, no bass of course.
The only real annoyance was they have their own range of ringtones and notifications that I had to work around by downloading my own. Battery life could be better - it needs charging each day. My previous phones were much better in this regard.
I'm really very pleased with it so far and consider it a bit of a bargain.

I note that I'm not alone in being irritated at the loss of the BBC Sounds widget, Reddit members certainly agreeing with me. It's especially annoying since all the nanny messages from the BBC have driven us to abandon various digital radio apps to move to the official BBC Sounds app, only to find they keep buggering around with it.
I used the widget in my Android car head unit because Sounds has zero visual presence, whereas the widget is smaller and tells me what programme I'm listening to while allowing me to view the other information on my home screen.
Come on BBC, get your act together!

Make sure the phone is on the same Wi-Fi. It won't work from mobile data.

1. Get the tablet working. Now you have a working system, leave it alone! 2. Fiddle with the phone and get it working. Don't fiddle with the rest of the system!
Basic troubleshooting 101. You keep changing too many variables at once.

I had both working
They stopped working
Right now the phone is allowing me to search and play The tablet insists I have to sign into Qobuz with the password, then turns me down
but shows what is playing as directed by the phone
Do the phone and tablet cause this if running together ?

If I was in the market those would get some serious consideration.

If I was in the market those would get some serious consideration. OK, so maybe I am in the market after all. Having had a Xaiomi Redmi Note 8 Pro 6+64Gb and currently using a Xaiomi Redmi Note 10 5g 4+128Gb I'm now looking at the new Xaiomi Redmi note 13 pro 5G which is released on 01-02-24. Amazon have it on a "Pre-order Price Guarantee" at £299.00 and as I've got £140 of Amazon vouchers burning a hole in my virtual pocket, and - let's be honest - I've spent the last few days searching for something to spend them on, but can't find anything I actually need, it would effectively be costing me a hundred and sixty quid. No, I don't actually need it, but I'm awfully tempted by it. The thing is, will it go down in price the week after release? Knowing my luck, the answer to that is almost certainly "yes", so maybe I'll hold off for a couple of weeks. Have a look, opinions both positive and negative are very welcome. www.mi.com/uk/product/redmi-note-13-pro-5g/Bearing in mind that about all I currently use my phone for is calling the odd cab when I'm out, and 2FA, it's got a ton of high-class bits and pieces that I don't normally use, but hey, if it's that good, maybe I will start taking photos with the (gasp) flagship-level 200MP main camera, which supports Super QPD for faster and more accurate focusing, plus OIS, EIS, and several other TLAs I don't understand. As I say, though ...very tempting.

It's far too good for you😂
"And you are never to use it till you can prove that you have spent ten minutes of every day in a rational manner using its excellent advanced features."
Bonus points if you know where the origins of my modified quotation is from.

Ok I'll go out on a limb and say grab it, Paul.
Number 1 thing I looked at was storage. If it really has 256gb and you end up using it as a camera well you can snap a lot of pictures and you have a fun new toy to play with for 160 quid.
Phones that come with 64gb are a slap in the face because half of that will be gone the moment you open the phone because of bloatware.
I'd watch a couple of reviews, read a couple of Amazon reviews for pros and especially cons and if it checks out I'd grab it.

Rather than another phone, why not treat yourself to an Android tablet?

Rather than another phone, why not treat yourself to an Android tablet? Mostly because I've got Android tablets galore as well as Fire tablets, Apple iPads, etc, and a new one will be out of date inside six months, whereas the phone could easily last me until I eventually pop my clogs because I cannot imagine a scenario where I would need a phone that does any more than the Note 13 Pro 5G does. To be honest, I could probably say the same about the Note 10 5G I'm using at the moment, and anyway, tablets are boring, and functional. I'm trying to sell myself on the idea that the phone is something new and fun that does more than the one I've already got. I've also already got a decent Chromebook, and a Win11 laptop that's sufficient for my needs.
