One trick I learned for longer batt life is to recharge before you go below 30%. Apparently Li batts see a deep discharge / recharge as one of their life using cycles. Not so a 30% and recharge activity. Expect 300-500 cycles. So after 3 years or so, they normally start their decline.

My Oppo rarely goes below 70% by the end of the day, so it gets plugged in for a 'mini top-up'.
I would expect to replace any phone or laptop battery after 3 years.

Thanks speedysteveI reckoned there would be a trick on battery life Off charge around 6am and still at 100% at 10am There is a set up on Lenovo laptops where stopping charging at around 75% max and is said to prolong battery life

Many new phones calculate the charge current based on your daily pattern.
My Oppo tells me that it will be fully charged by the time my alarm goes off the following morning, so it reduces the charge current accordingly. It can charge very fast (within an hour), but it slows it down to preserve battery life based on my sleep pattern. If I had emptied it during the day (never happened yet) and plug it back in, it will give it full beans. The spec says it will put 4 hours' use into it in 5 mins.

Yes, I've occasionally noticed mine saying it's delaying charging until later in the night when it needs it more and manages the battery charge speed. I get two days out of a charge and that's not letting it go below 30%! I use it quite a lot too.

Is there any way to accurately find out signal strength of different mobile networks where I live?
If I go to the usual network coverage checkers they all say they have good coverage but me and the Mrs both get really bad indoor reception on Three.

No!🙂 I've only ever had dodgy wifi connection with Windows / laptops. The quite slow Troubleshooting and fix problems procedure always resolves it. This is after the laptop is awoken from sleep. I've even replaced the wifi adapter HW..

First thing to check: look top-right and check both Wi-Fi and 4G/5G signal strengths.

Wi-Fi is like a fan with upwards waves (4th below) while 4G/5G is like a right-angle triangle vertical bar graph (6th below).

Mine are similar to that, not the same My fan is all white My right angle triangle has a tiny white tip on the left
Do these change my settings without my say so ?

Do these change my settings without my say so ? If you pull and expand your controls from the top, all of these settings can be changed. Not without your say-so, but there's a lot of potential automation.

Three used to give you a box to divert your signal via internet if poor indoor signal. Might be with asking if they still do it.

Check the maps and see how close you are to a bad signal area. That will give you a better idea, even if you are shown in the satisfactory area.

Interesting - on 3G we are right on the edge of a very small area of bad coverage, where signal is outdoors only. They claim 4G is good coverage, but I find it very variable indeed. 5G is again right on the edge of poor signal area.

Yep, I find their coverage maps quite optimistic. It does depend somewhat on your house construction and things in the way like trees, woods or other buildings.
We are on the edge of 4G for O2 and so it proved as we had to stop using them. EE and Three both show us inside the 4G coverage and we get a decent 3/4 bars for them both. No danger of 5G at home yet, but I get a strong 5G signal at work and it's blindingly fast (faster than Wi-Fi 6).

Might be looking for another phone after sliding this one into my full cup of tea
Recommendation is to leave for 24-48 hours to dry I read I've put it on some folded cloth on top of a radiator, battery out
If no luck I'm happy with similar to this LG K10 from 2017
