Thanks - I never got that update with my Q6 before moving on to the G7. The G7 has it as standard. Both audio and camera are really impressive on the phone. I like Android 10, nice and fast. However, why did they have to change the keyboard? I used to be able to long-press 'b' for a comma and now it doesn't work, I have to press symbol-shift and then comma. It's small things like this that make me wonder why they changed it? Comma is there under the smiley button next to the spacebar! For me. I have to press ?123 to get the hash key. Annoying in Insta! Different keyboards I guess.

Not for me, I have to press the 1#+ key to get the punctuation marks.

I use the MS SwiftKey Keyboard app across all of my Android devices. It's far superior to any stock Android keyboard I've seen.

I use Microsoft Launcher across all my Android devices and I'm not sure if it tweaks the keyboard or leaves it native. I'll check a few things later.

I've just bought my son a Poco X3 phone.
The spec is just ridiculously good. The camera performance is staggering from what I've seen so far, even in low light it produces super clean images. Video superb too. Far too many toys and options to play with.
Makes my phone look Victorian.

Video superb too. Far too many toys and options to play with. Makes my phone look Victorian. Sounds great. I'm still happy with my Google Pixel XL. It's still fast enough on Android 10, good camera etc, bit the battery has started going down hill. It's become a fixed line phone (charger). So a new one is on the offing. I don't want to buy Chinese really. But there are not many options for near premium product performance at near budget phone prices. Wife's Chinese Honor 20 is such a phone. Honor is now a subsidiary of Huawei?! Really good camera. Staggeringly good battery life. 128gb storage, 6gb ram. Still has access to Google play store and is on Android 10. Can still be bought new too. The newest ones can't access Google play store apps or have Google apps pre-loaded. You have to use Huawei similar apps 😂 One thing that trump might have for right - stop China steam rollering everything?

My next phone will likely be Samsung, purely because I would like an Amoled screen - I don't really need all the toys that the Poco phone has. I forgot to mention its stupidly quick fast-charging which I have never seen the like of!
Yes Trump's hard line on China was one of his better ideas - will be interesting see how Biden compares.

I dont buy new phones or upgrade any more since my provider wanted me tied into a 3 year contract if i was to upgrade.
I just get a second hand high end samsung/sony/whatever from a local shop to me and use it till it dies. Or i pass it on to one of the kids.
I gave up on upgrades partially because of the contract length and partially because there is very little difference between phones any more.
The samsung galaxy note 9 i have now, i paid 250 for when it was 18 months old and someone had traded it in. Looked brand new, but the note 10 had recently come out, then the note 20 more recently again. Neither the 10 or the 20 is noticably better than the 9 is, and the note 20 sound quality with headphones is crap compared to my 9. My sister upgraded to the 20 from a 10 and was underwhelmed by the barely noticable differences
Ill keep this one until it bites the big one or i break it, then get something second hand again rather than paying through the nose for a few years for something barely better than what i have. My rolling contract is dirt cheap now too, not having the second part that pays for a new phone.
I used to be one of those wallies that had to have the newest phone, but in the last 5 years i have really struggled to see any point in having the latest and greatest.

I haven't obtained a phone via contract in more years than I remember. I have a SIM-only contract and buy my own phones, much better that way.
Buying the outgoing previous flagship phone seems to work well and keeps the price down.

I'm quite content with my 2019 Alcatel 3. It's a phone. It's made a phone call every time I've needed it to make a phone call so far., and it's on a "3" PAYG plan. It usually only gets switched on when I leave the house. I can't remember the last time I left the house.

I like my 2019 LG G7. It does very much more than make adequate phone calls. It's my go-to device for staying in contact and has an array of useful tools. It's on a BT 20GB plan. It never gets switched off.

That's a real shame, but I started to wonder a while ago as their model range appeared to stagnate.
I really like my LG G7, I thought their models to be more focused on quality over Samsungs that are full of bloatware.

It looks like proper new availability of the LG G8 has dried up (ignoring unlocked but previously part of a service provider, or refurbished ones).

Im bummed about LG smartphones going away. They were one of the ones trying new things. Im searching for a new device now and was offered the LG Wing. Very cool concept.
Ive been on the v30 since day 1 of January 2018. Its a beast and I love the quad dac.
Even the super budget prepaid LG phones I had the Tribute 1 and Tribute 2 were interesting, and really well built and each had a couple of qualities that have bested any phones I've had since.

The G7 has been the most reliable phone I've ever had, barely getting a restart once a month. Android 10, too. No bloat, just native apps and a few LG utilities that are genuinely useful. Great camera and sound, too.
