Qobuz sub cancelled. Spotify sub renewed.
Those album deletions and eviscerations from Qobuz really pissed me off.
It's moved me back a few rows in the concert hall, but at least I can attend the concerts!

While Volumio continues to not support Amazon, I shall ignore it. Qobuz is my main source and Spotify just fills in and is used sometimes in my car. To be honest, it's very rare now that I come across anything (that I like) that's not on Qobuz. How are you going to fall in love with Alexa posting stuff like that? I bet she's pissed:D I just asked her to play some 70s disco. She £&*@ing loves me:)

I can live without her. Or Siri. Or Cortana. They're all in my past now

This Bluetooth obsession must result in some Blurry (left in spelling correction of Bluetooth LOL) headphones, Jerry. When you get a pair, and you will I am sure eventually, you'll love the freedom they provide. I mean proper Bluetooth headphones not in-ear annoyances. Hah! I couldn't resist trying some in ear Bluetooth annoyances. Some iMeister on order. Decent user reviews on Amazon.

Current setup is Spotty on phone > Bluetooth > Nobsound Bluetooth receiver with Powerpax PSU > Ixos 105 digital interconnect > Rega DAC > Epiphany Atratus3 interconnects > Nobsound NS-08P remote controlled stepped attenuator preamp > Epiphany Atratus3 interconnects > MF X10v3 buffer with Rock Grotto PSU > RFC Mercury interconnects > Temple Audio Monoblocks with Supercharger PSUs > W&M LS-06 speaker cables > MBL 116F speakers on Auralex platforms. Additional tweakery; Black Ravioli small platforms under preamp and DAC. Airlink 3kVA balanced mains transformer. DC blocker. Belden 19364 mains cables. SGS Sig grounding box. A most enjoyable sound. I haven't yet had a return match with the Topping D70 DAC.

For me the topping really took shape with grounding it made it so much more musical. Not a subtle difference The black Ravioli under the Topping should help it

How are you getting on with the Nobsound preamp Jerry . Also , have you tried the B&O H7 headphones yet ?

Hi Brian I think your parcel with the returned amps has arrived and is now doing its 5 days quarantine. Thanks for that. I'm waiting to hear how the Nobsound pre compares with the 2310 I loaned you. Atm I'm very impressed with the Nobsound as a pre. As a Bluetooth DAC it's pretty decent but the Rega DAC (being fed a Bluetooth signal) is definitely superior in terms of presence/rez/vibrancy/tonal richness. The H7 are also in quarantine! Both are released next Tuesday. This pandemic is teaching me patience, something I've previously not been very good at!

It also has senders details on the box somewhere . I thought the 2310 was very good indeed , however not really much better than the Sony amp which I already have . If the Nobsound is better it will certainly be worth considering . Aye , I think Covid-19 is teaching lots of us patience . I've been doing lots of DIY and making a very good job of it ( not my opinion , it's the wife's opinion that counts here lol ) because I know I have all the time in the world to do it .

Possibly the same marketing team which introduced us to Schiit Audio

Brian, I've heard the word that Alan Firebottle can "breath" on the 2310 preamps to good effect. I'll see how it goes once I've heard it again and maybe see if he fancies doing an upgrade for me. Or maybe I'll just be happy using the Nobsound pre.

Interesting stuff Jerry, I have a few questions. Is your overall feeling that Bluetooth gives you a better results than a wired connection? Have you stopped using a reclocker now? What do you think of that Ravioli stuff? I like the idea of doing without Volumio - it's a bit of a pain with all the updates and always having to check that the settings haven't been randomly altered again.

I'm really enjoying the Bluetooth sound. Maybe its degradations just suit me, but I'm entirely happy with it atm. It sounds great. So, yup, no reclocking, no fancy USB cable, no USB converter. No fuss, no faff, just ultra convenient using a phone as source. I'm pretty sure you'd like it on classical, I've no idea what you'd think on your higher energy music. But it's fast and palpable on plucked strings, no discernable lack of rez, quite the contrary. I'd recommend this to feed into your DAC. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-Bluetooth-5-0-Stereo-Receiver-Optical-Coaxial-Converter-Adapter-ATPX-HD-/274446468720Black Ravioli. I wouldn't have paid full price, and if I had I think I would have returned the 2 bases. But at just under half price, £50 each, they do earn their keep with a slightly better deeper sound stage, and a more flowing feel overall.

I will have to give it a try at some point. At the moment I have a big backlog of gear (and music ) to get through - looks like the system will be back 'online' from next week. Shame my D70 doesn't have built in BT like the latest one does - that would be the ultimate in simplicity and convenience!
