When the lockdown is relaxed I must bring my Neurochrome dual mono 286 power amp down for you to have a listen. I think you will be impressed.

Maybe I should bring the Fireyzator round and make that a threesome!
How many WPC Alan?

65 per channel, but it's the transparency that impresses.

2nd system rejuvenated. A lovely pair of newly refurbed B&O CX100 speakers, Lexicon MC1 digital processor (DAC and preamp), Phonic MAX500 semi-pro power amp, sourced by Qobuz and the Pioneer DV-737 silver disc spinner and Denon minidisc player. The Audiolab MDAC acting as headphone amp. A Jamo SUB200 fills in below 80Hz. Quite remarkable little speakers, the B&O.

The B&O are very cool - I like the ones with the orange grilles ...

Yes, I tried Beolab90 speakers first, but they kept toppling over when I put them on those stands. When I saw you'd commented I thought you were going to suggest that your lava stands would look better. Which they probably would, but I can't be bothered to make the journey!

I did think it, trust me. No not worth the journey at the mo. Look! That said, when you do, they'll probably cost a quid!

£58k B&O speakers? So that's £50k for the lifestyle element and £8k worth of speakers.
Am I far wrong?

Nice guy, ex of the Audio industry, does a lot of reviewing for the mags, has heard a lot of gear. Needless to say from his chosen forum ID, he's a big fan of the brand. He seems well pleased with his purchase. I'd like to hear a pair and I would definitely go to a not too far off show if they were being demmed.

I seem to remember HFN gave them a good review.
I don't believe they have appeared at Munich. As a design I think they are a bit too complicated to really be brilliant.

Don't think I could live with them no matter the sound Makes me think of a Dalek mutation - could put a sheet over them ...

I might be wrong but I think if I was going to sink >£50k into speakers it would be with a company that puts serious amounts of money into R&D, like Wilson, not a company that is know chiefly for lifestyle products.

Mind you, its 137kg rules it out for me. I'm maxed out by my MBL's 45kg. Same height as my MBLs but twice as wide. It's a miracle of DSP, which I probably can't be bothered with. I guess you buy it new and dealer setup is part of the price. Bye bye box swapping; amps and DACs and most cabling all included. It is a lifestyle fit and forget product. Interesting Stereophile review www.stereophile.com/content/bang-olufsen-beolab-90-loudspeaker-page-2

Ah, so it's more of a DSP plus speakers and amps system, not just speakers on their own. Now I get it.
