A lot of subtle changes to my system over the last 4 months that have added more detail, deepened the soundstage and even a bit more punch I got a great deal on a Advance regenarator www.aelgroup.co.uk/pdf/asr_testimonials.pdf Nice little unit for a reasonable price The guy from BugHead has taken the player to new heights after a break. The insight offered is just outstanding I added a BAT pure www.sibatech.co.jp/take-t/batpure.html tiny supertweeters that add a bit more air and detail in my system I have built a few mains cables that helped a bit too (but subtle) I am tempted to having a new pair of Open baffles built I really love what I am hearing with the Vic transfi open baffles and will have a further listen soon www.trans-fi.com/my-system

Looking at the specs, those Bat ST's are quite insensitive.(70dB/1m)
Did you connect them as recommended ?

It depends what you read I am not sure if the Bat pure is adding resistance and helping that way or actually making a difference (its more subtle in terms of SQ) I got the ASR from ebay took a chance and paid off

Did you connect them as recommended ? Don't worry too much about the rating Philip, they are strictly super tweeters i.e. >20Hz, rather than extended tweeters, so their effect and integration is primarily dependent on dispersion and location. They are said to match speakers with tweeters of around 95dB.

Just to update system PC Server i5 Skylake 32gb w10 Fanless BugHead 7.91 NAD 7050 powering the PRV drivers Berhinger Inuke powering the Neo Selium bass drivers that are in a push pull configration Batpure supertweeters Advance sinewave to pc and Nad Biggest differences in sound is just how big the soundstage is and how dynamic but with added refinement too IT just plays music and whilst this system is not audiophile I think many would be suprised by it

How do you find the regenerator, John?

Its smoothes things out a bit and adds a bit more detail, its not gigantic step up in performance but definite prefer in
I do wonder about my own journey sometimes. The system is no way High End but not many can keep up with it sense of speed, dynamics and detail. It has changed a lot since you last heard it Martin in terms of what it does with sound. Its like the music has been liberated without boundaries.

Nice. There's more than one way to skin a cat in hi-fi systems.

System uodate I now have a strange mix of classic kit, some modern kit. some pro kit and some DIY I added the following Black Tulip 370 Power amp. Inspired by both Jerry and Jules experiences. I bought I complete Philips system to get the power amp. Lovelly bit of kit SMSL M9 Dac I bought this on the strength of the M8 review www.musicservertips.com/product-reviews/smsl-m8-dac/I am using a 5v 2.1amp power bank to power it up and would say to get the best out this dac it is essential to use a better power supply than the one supplied. I got a Sony BDP S6700 mainly due to the fact it can stream Spotify. So now using Spotify connect, sounds a lot better than my server playing Spotify. For what ever reason Spotify sounds awful via the server I will try it through the linear power supply at the weekend to see if I can get any more improvements out of the machine but can now enjoy music from Spotify again

Sounds interesting John. I like Pro/Semi Pro stuff. I have a Behringer Ultramatch Dac that has loads of things to fiddle with and balance outs. Lampizator modded the hell out of one and out a valve buffer stage in it. It looked like a car crash, but he says it sounded great. lampizator.eu/LAMPIZATOR/TRANSPORT/behringer/Behringer.html

With an Intergrated Aluminum cabinet, and a Headphone Amp Curcuit, I'd pass on it purely because of the bad speling
