It looks interesting. My SMSL SA.S3 amplifier on the PC is a beautifully built bit of kit.

Its a nice bit of kit Ali as the the unit I got, but really needs a dedicated power supply before you listen critically No idea what it matches up too, but clean detailed and analogue sounding

Yes, the Mytek also improved with a good linear supply.

Using the ifi power supply now It's a bit better than my power bank For £50 not bad and worth considering if you have a low powered kit like an raspberry pi or caiman

I bought this www.sony.co.uk/electronics/blu-ray-disc-players/bdp-s6700 as means to try an alternative method of using Spotify. Its powered by a 12v SMPS. Well got rid of the power supply and use my linear power supply to power it. Best I got Spotify to sound in my system and can now enjoy using Spotify again

That's great, John. I always wondered at your dislike of Spotify.

Unfortunately via the server I cannot listen to Spotify even with the more complex recordings it now sounds good

With the standard power supply it's ok but goes up quite a few steps with the linear power supply Not tried it with files or anything else

The Hyplex 100 same as the server but that 19v not 12v Might be worth trying a car battery The SMPS supplied with it is a big limiting factor

You can get very small 12V sealed lead acid batteries from the likes of Yuasa.

Trying as a file based player, not up with the server using Bug Head as a tiny bit nasal sounding but not bad I think might be able to improve it a bit more with better feet. Do not think it ever going to come up to the server but be good to see if I can push it a bit further

I feel pretty settled with the system as to push any further will require a big outlay

A few updates Fiderlizer have just done a update that has improved sound quality from my server. Spotify now sounding good through the server and system. I added a second Black Tulip that I bought of Jerry. So I now run two 370 Black Tulip's as mono blocks. It adds a bit more weight, fine detail. and soundstage. No going back to one power amp for me, its a no brainer upgrade. The linear power supply is now powering the DAC and still powering the server I think this also helps a bit. Compaired to the IFI power supply. No loner need to go blank screen when using Bug Head. Bug Head has improved quite a bit in the last few weeks. The developer now calls the player Nontallion but still just a pain as it always been to use.
