A quick update If I don't use the END noise from the earth builds up slowly so after 48 hours mids and treble is affected as soon as plug the END in issue disappears so it like noise must be bleeding through the system via the Earth

I thought grounding boxes took a while to come 'on song'?

The END is a bit different in that in dealing with ground noise on the mains circuit as opposed internal noise being created by components. Earth noise has to leak somewhere and will find the path of least resistance hence it sometimes taking time for them to have a affect. I can only report on my experience

Ah, that explains it - I hadn't understood that you weren't using a 'standard' grounding box.

The RTZ comes on right away. Improves over time

I have been on a real drive to lower my noise floor over the last few months at times a frustrating journey and other times a insightful journey in my understanding of what was causing the issues in my system. Borrowing Coherent Audio the END helped me to understand just how much ground noise is in my system as everything just sounded so musical. Much as I wanted the END it was out of my reach so I decided to try some grounding boxes on my mains just to see if I could find another way to help resolve my issues. At this stage I try and explain my mains coming into my music room It is on a independent supply so does not touch the Consumer board downstairs and uses a 10mm mains cable to a small consumer board in the room. It has two circuits coming from it a Spur feeding all my digital equipment and a radial that the Temples run off from. In the past I always just treated one of these circuits not both. I ordered 3 different grounding boxes from China with the idea of getting Vic to make one super box, they arrived at different times as ordered at different times. The smallest box arrived first and I put it on one of the Spur mains outlet. The wire is only connected to the Earth, It took a couple of days for the box to do its thing but the sound had become more natural. The next one arrived and I decided to put it on the ring main I immediately heard a improvement and had to lower the crossover on the Behringer from 73hz to 55hz which I only experienced this with major upgrades. After a few days it really came on song everything sounded natural. The final box arrived 3 days ago which is the heaviest of the 3 boxes and put it onto the spur and took the other one out of the system as the plan was to create a bigger box. It is definitely a bit better than the smaller box in terms of depth and detail. Adding the 3rd box to the radial system this time pitting in front of the circuit meant I had to lower the crossover to 48hz I still might have to drop further once it fully beds in. I am really impressed by what I achieved. In my system this works well but I do have a industrial estate near by and my system is wired a bit differently to most peoples system but happy with the results and my mains now sorted

I have multiple grounding boxes in my system but all are connected to component ground planes.
Inspired by John's experiments, I have ordered two grounding boxes - one large one to ground the mains earth at my system and the other even larger one to ground the mains earth at the point of entry into the house.
I don't have John's industrial noise to contend with, but I'm at the stage where a bit of experimentation is all that is left for system tweaks. And it's fun!

Which boxes did your order, Martin and you too John.
I use the Black Ravioli units here in Germany, in similar manner to you Martin, but I do have a possibility to treat the mains pre-IsoteK and also via their earth tabs.

Very interesting. Keep us updated.
I was once told by someone who knew that 3 phase, used on an industrial estate was in a different league to our normal household - in many different ways. The serious kit that needs 3 phase and uses it must be pushing all sorts of rubbish into the system and surround
Electrickery is just so complicated. So much going on we haven't even realised yet

Are you grounding your D70 still John?
If so could you tell me how it's connected.

I have found some on UK eBay from China, but not in Germany. However, checking out the Chinese ones they seem to comprise a wooden box filled with granular Tourmaline and I can buy that in Germany for 20 Euros / kg. I have been meaning to have a play with mixes of materials for a while. Maybe that time has come!

Take a cigar box and get building. It's more than just tourmaline but there are published contents somewhere.

Yes, I have seen a few recipes and have been looking up availability. I've just got another 27 cigars to smoke and then I can start: this grounding business is bad for your heath I tell you!

I got all the bits and pieces for a grounding box last year, I really must get around to making it.
