A simple question, how can an AC fuse be directional? Once that basic has been answered, then we can move on to the more complex issues.

How can an interconnect or speaker cable be directional?
Try reversing just one cable and listen for image shift. If you can hear it (as I do) then your question is answered.
As to how, I've no idea.

An interconnect can be directional depending on which end the screen was connected. I see no other reason or explanation of how a cable can be directional. As for speaker cable, I have never tried testing if it sounds better in a different direction. Life is too short to waste time doing that.
If an AC fuse is directional, than that would suggest it only works properly 50% of the time.

I don't think so. Russ Andrews has propounded a theory that cables 'acquire' directionality after a period of time. It's a fair theory and means that a cable may, for a period of time, be running sub optimally but it will eventually settle down into the new direction.
But, once again, I offer a simple experiment which is not taken up. I suggest doing it with speaker cables as they are usually constructed the same both ends and do not have a screen.

As most audio signals are AC, then I do not believe that cable direction makes a difference, as electron flow oscillates through the cable. How can turning a cable around make a difference? Will it change the electron flow? I am a firm believer that the sound does not change through cable direction, but your brain thinks you hear a change, and it settles down as time passes. The same can be said for cable “burn in”.

I am a firm believer that the sound does not change through cable direction A Graham's Hi-Fi sales assistant once told me "I have every faith in Linn" when I questioned whether there are better decks around. I don't need any belief systems. My ears tell me what is best.

You are comparing a salesman’s belief with your own. He will believe whatever gives him the best profit/bonus. I have tried (unbalanced) interconnects in both directions, and never heard a difference. It could be because I did not believe that there would be a difference, so I was listening to the music, rather than the system?

Some anecdotal observations for you:-
AC voltage is not directional electrons will flow freely in any direction in the path of less resistance depending on material, dielectric etc.
DC voltage is directional electrons will flow freely in the dictated path of less resistance depending on material, dielectric etc.
If you have been running your speaker cable for a numbers of months untouched, then just turn it around,a simple easy test you can do that will cost zero money, no one to influence you in the vicinity, or subliminal messages from flat earth salesman.
Can you hear a difference?
One other observation, when completing new cables will run them in on a cable conditioner (a device which is based along the lines of an electric fence, high capacitance discharge) if you leave the cables (particularly speaker cables) on the device to long the cables sound very flat and plain wrong, the only option is to leave alone for around 4 weeks before it begins to sound like it did before the over use of the burn in device.

The ears decide.
Having an opinion without any listening to products is pointless. Insulting members who have made the decision based on their own listening tests shows wha sort of person you are. Try coming off the nocebo for a while.
Paul McGowan also subscribes to cables acquiring directionality after being in use for a time.

I can see yours quite clearly.... Nocebo: a detrimental effect on health produced by psychological or psychosomatic factors such as negative expectations of treatment or prognosis. So I am in poor health because I don’t think a £130 fuse will make a difference? Priceless.....

All this technical debate is rendered useless by simply trying a fuse if you are in any way interested. Or accepting the validity of opinions from those who have heard them if you're not inclined to try. That's what I do, because I'm not technical and even then I wouldn't dream of telling others what they can and can't hear. Heck, I haven't even got O level Physics

Think I did get O level Physics but as I can't remember if I passed or not you can imagine I forgot all I learned

I was listening to the music, rather than the system? I've seen this comment so many times and don't understand it. How can you listen to a system other than listening to music? Well right there is the difference between an audiophile and someone who simply enjoys music for what it is. I doubt there ever will be an understanding of these two views, especially by an audiophile - it's beyond their belief system of what motivates them with music and why they enjoy. The two are very different and if audiophiles don't understand it I doubt they ever will, as they cannot separate the two things. Going further, if people are constantly seeking improvement and changing equipment/peripherals in their system then its virtually impossible - the music becomes a test signal. Have fun guys

Sorry Tim, I'm not going to accept that. An audiophile simply wants to replay music to the best possible quality.
It really is all about the music. Anything else makes no sense to me. An audiophile is still a music lover, they are not mutually exclusive!

Not in any way. Music is wonderful. Better kit allows you to hear more music. I would hate to go backwards on kit and lose so much of the magic
