The faster they go the more ridiculous their car. The Citroen Saxo with the chrome wheels, the bean can exhaust and the laughably hopeful spoiler, that sort of thing.

My mate had a Vauxhall Nova which he had rammed a 2.0 litre Astra engine in that he used to drive around a full pelt when we were younger and everyone thought he was a turd... in hindsight, he was!

Egged on by the idiot Clarkson and crew. No social responsibility. The sooner driverless cars are compulsory the better. I might live to regret that statement but we'll see

The sooner driverless cars are compulsory the better I would rather not lose the pleasure of driving independently, even if it would cure the roads of the 5% of nutters out there.

Cars like pimped-out Saxos do make me laugh. Living in London you see lots of bad driving but of course you can't get up to great speed. When we drive up to see mum in Manchester though it's another matter on the M1 / M6. Generally the fastest / worst driving I see there is by van drivers and also those with expensive Audis who've graduated from Golfs it seems ...

I might live to regret that statement but we'll see Did you see the story about the driver less car exponent in USA? His car failed to detect a truck pulling across it's path with fatal consequences. I can see a massacre resulting from this as computers always go wrong eventually.

The pimped up motors may only be for looks. Especially if they have 1.2 engine !
I love to hear really quiet cars and motorbikes these days. Anything noisy is a pain.
Too fast and noisy is a pain with horrid potential

When I see young "tear-arces" racing around I start to react, then I remember that I was young once and probably as bad.
Hopefully we all grow up and mature into sensible, responsible people.

If all were GPS / computer controlled then it would be simpler. People are always resistive to change, road deaths are not exactly 0 at the moment
Hit and runs everyday at the moment it seems.

Now I've seen an interesting take on this. In the NE (Aberdeen,Buckie,Peterhead etc) the boy racers there had a few quid to throw at their cars which meant it was the same idiotic attitudes but driving powerful cars. Various makes depending on the trend of the day - the most recent being Audi.
This led to a horrendous amount of crashes and fatalities with LOTS of innocent people getting hurt - usually girlfriends in the passenger seats or other drivers who got hit by these idiots as they hoofed round a corner on the wrong side of the road. I worked with quite a few of these guys and they were utter twats who didn't give a monkeys about anyone but themselves.
Can't stand them.

The local twats round here have for some reason started to tear arse around in volvo s60's. Really. There are 3 of them now. There is one knobhead with a focus St which has the volvo 5 pot t5 motor in it, 2 of the volvo's are t5's and the other is a d5. I live at the top of long steep hill, right on the top where it flattens out quite suddenly and it is quite a scary experience to come out of the front gate and to be able to hear a t5 screaming it's nuts off but not be able to see the car.
When i was their age I was thrashing around on a gsxr750, but not in residential areas. I would not have even considered doing so, I waited until I got onto the back lanes before opening the taps. I commuted to work on the bike in a morning and took the long way on the way home so had abit of respect for pedestrians and other road users. These silly sods have not

Total lack of police presence doesn't help.

They're too busy catching 'irresponsible criminals' doing 7mph over the limit.
