Bit more like it, having a least one other manufacturer capable of winning legitimately, rather than picking up occasional scraps if the lead, same team pair get it wrong.
Lewis was below the pit lane speed limit, hence clearly impeding. Before that line it was kinda fine. Was not by much but as soon as the other teams complained it was a done deal. With better pit stops it would have been game on anyway, I think.

Nice result for Bottas! Exciting start then all a bit processional leader wise. Close at the end, but one thing to catch, another to pass - even with DRS. Hammy unlucky again? Man hug for Bernie from Dobbie

What an awkward pre podium room VIP visit! Rather them than me! Bernie collared Vettel too. The latter looking like he'd rather be anywhere else but there

Pleased for Bottas, but boy Mercedes run those cars at the limit thermally. Did you see the flame while changing a wheel?
Hamilton struggled with setup all weekend. Hope it's a glitch as Vettel will need reining in.

Nice race for Bottas under some serious pressure from Vettel. Hamilton was nowhere all weekend, similar to Baku last year. Just hope it's a one off.

A game that doesn't require shooting things. Makes a change...

I play F1 2016 on the PS4 and it's really quite impressive, a lot better than the Geoff Crammond games of the 90s, although they have some nostalgia about them.

I don't play computer or console games at all.
Guess I'm not a full-on geek after all.

I'm stuck in the past. GT / GP Legends. Lapping a Porsche 906 around Spa or Le Mans is great fun. Back in the day you could join any number of online races. Guess that's what Assetto Corsa is like today. A few years ago now, a small group of Caterham and other sports car owners / racers from the UK and Sweden, we used to meet up once a week online, headsets etc and race. We even did a full championship over the course of a year of various cars and tracks from Mini, Elan, Cobra, Escort etc through to 906 at Le Mans, complete with night session and pitstops - 906 is my personal favourite. I won that championship We started out on GP Legends - a 1997 sim that was very challenging in the beginning. It's been updated and kept alive by a group of programming whizzes but shows its age today. Still racing Jim Clarke and Graham Hill etc round the Nordschleife (anything under 8mins 20secs was a great lap, all 177 turns of it), original Spa and Monza with banked loop still has it's joys.. Logitech and G25 or G27 wheel and pedals a must. Although for some reason I was always faster on the simpler and lighter Logitech Wingman. I can only do in cockpit view as old school as possible and absolutely no cheats or driving aids. Well apart from paddle shift that is. Gear level is ok on slower GT Legends cars but fast stuff it's paddle shift all the way. Might fire up the old desktop today and have a go again..

I remember GP Legends, never got on with it as I failed to keep the cars on the Tarmac. I generally play F1 games as a preference but did used to like Colin McRae Rally which was a whole heap of fun and the BTCC racing around traditional tracks, can't Rembrandt the games name now.

GP Legends was real hardcore. Not meant to ever be easy.
You have to learn every circuit, every bend, braking points, right great selection, how far you can push at every point.
With the updates the default set up is quite tameable. Learning to overlap throttle and braking and moving the brake bias backwards helps lap times.
The graphics and car updates are good, and you can even install the 1968 wings on struts (soon banned), and fixed wing cars that followed. Mines a 49, 49b or 49c Stewart's Matra was nice though. I might install all that again sometime and go for a spin. Watkins Glen is easy to learn

Which track has the corkscrew, or similar name? That looks like a steep learning curve.

Laguna Seca has the corkscrew. Even more spectacular on, two wheels. Have a look a the MotoGP Rossi vs Stoner Laguna Seca epic battle of a few years ago. I'm sure it'll be on YouTube They say in real life you just approach it like any other corner... but!
It was available on both GTL and GPL

Laguna Seca is a superb track, really challenging and hard to get right, but very rewarding if you do.

Forgot to say the other race / sim I have is Race07. Caterhams and Radicals at dawn Seriously quick but no so many classic tracks (and that is so important to me). I'm just not interested driving some rally stage or made up track. It has to have the drama and glamour of the famous & evocative tracks. Preferably of yesteryear, cos they were longer more hardcore.

Merc ahead on Practice times in Spain. Are Ferrari sandbagging a bit or has the Merc machine kicked in with upgrades that will grind the colorato and appassionato Italian team into the dust?

It does look like both Mercedes and Red Bull aero upgrades have had a good effect.

Exciting! But I hope it's not a situation Ferrari can't respond to..
