Ferrari are looking good, but then Merc could be sand bagging as they've done before.. interesting times ahead.

Quite a worry about the McLaren though. Seems the oil tank design was not letting the scavenge system work fully. Everything is so tightly packaged that it could be a challenge to get a redesigned tank in the available space. Really not something that the likes of McLaren and Honda should be getting wrong...

Wow the Mercedes may have been sandbagging after all, Bottas' time this morning is remarkable.

That guy Lance Stroll is not bad at all. He is absolutely terrible. Two crashes already, and the races haven't even started yet.

I seem to remember that Romain Grosjean was pretty bad when he first started too.

All dismissive and 'it is what it is' and shrugging off car and driving problems. I took an instant dislike to him.

Hmm, Lewis was comfortably 5 seconds a lap faster averaging his long stint runs compared to last year. Gonna be interesting to see the cars at corners like Becketts, Parabolica, Pouhon and 130R!

The changes this season are proper and needed. Hamilton says this is definately the fastest car he has ever driven in F1 and that is obviuosly saying something. It will seperate the men from the boys. Take a look at the second video in this clip during testing www.aol.co.uk/sport/2017/03/01/hamilton-like-a-kid-on-a-rollercoaster-on-board-new-mercedes/ the noise the speed ! Rosberg said during his visit that all the drivers were aching and hurting due to the physical demands of the new cars. It's gonna be a tough season for them all. I just pray that whilst we have the obvious speed, that the additional size doesn't completely hinder overtaking and that we dont have any 'serious' crashes.

A frequent saying from MotoGP You can get fast riders to slow down and not crash, you cannot get slow riders to go faster Could this be the same ? 'Course if he;s slow *and* crashes - no cigar

...and Eau Rouge. They should look spectacular. Could be easier from the drivers point of view if the cars have that much more downforce, it will be taken flat! Will look spectacular as you a say. Pretty hostile environment being in something that quick lap after lap. Expect shirt collar sizes to increase quite rapidly.

Lewis Hamilton was saying in an interview the other day that he had bruises on his arms and legs that he didn't have before driving the car... but he seems to love it.
I watched a few laps of the practise last week and seeing the cars as they go round the track is really quite something else this year

The grip around corners is phenomenal.

The second week of testing starts tomorrow, so we should see the cars in a more complete form. Most teams are bringing aero updates and hoping to turn up their engines closer to race spec.
