Superb lap by Lewis, he really is one of the best qualifiers ever to grace F1.

Nice win by Lewis today, requiring some clever driving to keep Vettel at bay. Again for me it shows Lewis in a league of his own when he's on it.

Really great defending by Hamilton and great effort by Vettel attacking him. These two stand head and shoulders above the rest.
Wonder what's going to happen between Perez and Ocon? I thought Perez was being just too dangerous at such speeds, pushing Ocon into the wall.

Force India decided to implement team orders from now on. But the incident is totally their own fault. Ocon was due to come into the pit for tyre changes, but the team called Perez in instead, which resulted in him coming out again just ahead of Ocon.

Fantastic qualifying result. You just had to see Hamilton's record-winning pole to understand what a master he is. Over a second faster than the next man!
Stroll in 2nd and Ocon in 3rd!! The Ferraris only 5th and 6th.
Sainz and Ocon both deserve great seats in the future.
Tomorrow's going to be a cracking race.

Looked like Max had that one, but we still got to see him powersliding one of the fastest corners

Hamilton did exactly what was needed to bring the points home. Goes back to the top of the table (just).
I liked what Ocon and Stroll did, and Ricciardo was superb.
Alonso's whinges are getting a bit tiresome.

Alonso's whinges are getting a bit tiresome. Yep, agreed on all counts. Where LH currently is is well deserved, he's remained focused and done the biz under pressure no question. Singapore wont suit the Mercs on paper but they'll do all they can thats for sure. Alonso is just totally fed up, edgey and moody as a result

...and again today, both McLarens out.
I can't see Honda surviving this unless they switch to supplying Toro Rosso.

Brilliant job by Lewis today, although it was relatively easy for him, as Bottas wasn't much of a challenge and Ferrari were nowhere.

Bottas has to be careful. Like so many of the new drivers of the last few years, they all claim that they need a faster car to show their real potentials. But once in a fast car, they are falling behind. Max is also showing why he not yet championship material. His regular unforced accidents are costing the team points.

I think Bottas is doing a pretty good job, Stan, but he is up against one of, if not the best driver of this generation, so it proves he's a Good, but very unlikely Great driver.
Personally I think he is better than Rosberg, and he managed to become World Champion.

I think Bottas is as good as Hamilton needs him to be.

Personally I think he is better than Rosberg, and he managed to become World Champion. That's an interesting position, Paul. On balance, I think Rosberg gave Hamilton more competition and got under his skin a lot more. I haven't quite seen that in Bottas despite beating him on a couple of occasions.

Naa, Rosberg got an assist to win the championship last year for the Fatherland.. Nearly all of Hamilton's bad luck, bad starts team cockups etc have now dried up now. And I'm not a conspiracy theorist generally speaking.. Hammy is ahead of Bott on experience and in that team so easier to shine. Question is if Bott can ever consistently beat him. Prob not.

I'd agree with you there, Steve, I'm not a conspiracy theorist either, but I definitely believe Rosberg had a little bit of assistance last year!
