Denial because he knows he's in the wrong!

If Hamilton had done that, the FIA would've made an example of him.

Apologises cynically to everyone (except Hamilton) and drives for Ferrari. What did we expect, really?

Hamilton fastest in FP1 and FP2 yesterday and broke the lap record. However, he has a five place grid penalty for a new gearbox.

He'll still win

From eighth on the grid? It isn't likely. I hope he does damage limitation with the points, but Q3 just played against him with the Grosjean yellow flags.

Not a bad race yesterday, Bottas did a good job of holding off Vettel, and Lewis salvaged what he could from his dire starting position. Are we going to have another year where Lewis gets all of the bad luck at Mercedes?, looks a bit like it this year... I know it is just bad luck but it is quite infuriating!
The thing I have found most interesting as how the press have made such a big point about Bottas now being a Championship contender. He has all along hasn't he?, he is consistent, reasonably fast and in my opinion a lot better than Rosberg ever was so obviously he has a chance.
Personally my view is that Lewis is still their star driver though, so if it came to the crunch I suspect they would back him over Bottas.

Problem is, Lewis is easily affected by events and bad luck. It affects his races. Drivers like Vettel (who I can stand, just like Schumacher) power on regardless. Lewis can't dwell on things if he wants to beat drivers like this. Bottas on the other hand, had bad luck at the beginning of the season, but he doesn't seem to be affected by it, and has come back over the last few races.

Went to the F1 event today after work in Trafalgar Sq. Was really good. All the drivers were there. I'm a big Hamilton fan but really dissapointed he pulled out to jet off on a two day break instead. Whilst I appreciate everyone does there thing their way, I just think he missed a trick and didn't really do himself any favours - more fuel for the haters for starters ...

Totally agree Robbie, think it will do Lewis no favors at all!

Stonking Pole from Hamilton ! - very impressive.
He now needs to win with Vettel behind (not second) to start closing the deficit

Nice lap Lewis. Way out ahead.
I was a bit worried about the Grosjean incident, but no action it seems. Love Toto's comment..
First Romain Grosjean, the Haas driver, protested bitterly that he had been impeded and that the triple world champion should be penalised. Then Toto Wolff, the Mercedes team principal, rounded on the Frenchman with a withering rebuke, saying: “Look at his track record. He is lucky to be in Formula One.”

Amazing lap by Lewis, nearly a second quicker than second is very impressive.

Absolute class Hamilton all weekend pole win everything, a great drive. Bout time he had some luck. Top drive Bottas. Great race towards the end - exciting. Only one point in it now at the top from a previous 20. What a difference a great drive and weekend can make. Can only imagine how chuffed Hamilton must be and at his home grand prix. Needs to keep pushing though, plenty of races still to go. GLad Raikkenon made the podium despite looking like he might not near the end.

Great win for Hamilton and nice to see both Bottas and Raikkonen on the podium.
Driver of the race for me between Ricciardo and Verstappen, both outstanding.
