6p-a-minute cafes gaining popularity.
Eat, drink and as much Wi-Fi as you want for 6p a minute.
Russian concept spreading here, and probably elsewhere.

Russians turning to religion.
5,000 churches built and 10,000 ordinations in just the past 6 years.
It's "The End Times", we're living in. Gotta be.
Gotta be.

Revolution under way in the generation of energy.
More and more renewable sources are coming on stream feeding energy back into the grid. The problem now is battery technology that needs development. And so the Government has created an initiative to look into improving such battery use. This is a bit of a change, and about time, as it is now recognised that the country's energy needs cannot be left solely to the market.
The other aspect is increasing the use of electrical appliances controled on-line to manage power needs. Switching a freezer off for 10 minutes has no real negative effect. And if 100s or 1000s can be switched off for short periods, significants amounts of energy can be saved. Rather than spending billions on new power stations, the focus is going to be controlling/modifying how energy is used. As it's a lot more cost effective.

Switching a freezer off for 10 minutes... ...is exactly the same as changing the cycling by adjusting the temperature up a little!

New petrol and diesel car sales to be banned in the UK from 2040. Wow! Wonder what the impact on secondhand will be? From 2020 Volvo are producing either hybrid or electric. The times they are a-changing.

Electric Mini to be built in the UK.
That's the good news. The bad is that the whole shower of politicians haven't between them cooked up exactly how all this power is going to be generated. As the head of Aston Martin said today, the announcement without the infrastructure plans behind it is simply 'absurd'.
