Signal was lost and I refreshed the page.
5G on the horizon. Much faster broadband speed. A film taking 8 seconds to download. Has a latency (speed of data delivery) of 1millisecond, compared to the brain's 250, apparently.

Microsoft is now more valuable than Google"So where next for Microsoft? Morgan Stanley believes that Microsoft will be one of the first companies out there to hit a $1 trillion valuation within the space of a year thanks to the growth of cloud services. If this is the case, Apple certainly has something to be worried about."

Lady Gaga is starring in her first film, which is called A Star Is Born. Sound familiar? It's the 2018 remake of the 1976 film, which was a remake of the 1954 film, which was a remake of the 1937 original. She follows Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, and Janet Gaynor in the lead role. Thank heavens Hollywood hasn't lost that spark of originality eh?

I know they get a lot of bad press (much of it of a personal nature, rather than strictly truthful) but fair play to Posh and Becks for donating the outfits they wore to the Royal Wedding recently to raise money for the victims of the Manchester bombing.
People who donate to the We Love Manchester emergency fund will get at least 10 entries into the competition to win the clothes for every US dollar they donate.
The fund has, so far, raised £21m for those affected by the attack on 22 May last year, in which a suicide bomber killed 22 other people.

Pope Francis has said climate change is a challenge of "epochal proportions" and that the world must convert to clean fuel. "Civilisation requires energy, but energy use must not destroy civilisation," he said.
He was speaking to a group of oil company executives at the end of a two-day conference in the Vatican. Firms present included ExxonMobil, BP, Royal Dutch Shell, Norway's Equinor and Pemex of Mexico.
Yes, one of the few blokes who could cite "act of God" and get away with it has told "us" it's a problem which the developed and developing world has caused, and it's for people to solve, not prayer.

I'd go the other way. Stop all this automation nonsense and go back to humans driving the car. You want to sleep? Go to a hotel. Bloody dangerous in the extreme.
