Music streaming app Tidal has been accused of inflating audience figures for two albums - Lemonade by Beyonce, and The Life of Pablo by Kanye West. A Norwegian-language newspaper claims the move would have led Tidal to have paid disproportionate royalties to the singers' record companies at the expense of other artists. Tidal had the exclusive streaming rights to both the albums in question when they first launched. Tidal which is part-owned by Jay Z. who is Beyonce's husband, and a long-term friend of Kanye West, has denied the accusations. "This is a smear campaign from a publication that once referred to our employee [chief operating officer Lior Tibon] as an 'Israeli intelligence officer' and our owner as a 'crack dealer'," it said in a statement. SOURCEI didn't realise that the Daily Mail had a Norwegian issue. Mind you, they have issues with most foreigners, don't they? BOOM-BOOM!

The man hired to run the Student Loans Company was appointed against officials' advice and without having his references checked. Steve Lamey was made chief executive in June 2016 on a year's probation. Within 18 months he was sacked for gross misconduct after whistleblowers made 69 allegations of wrongdoing. Business, Innovation and Skills (Bis) officials received references from Mr Lamey's former employer - HM Revenue and Customs, which he left in 2012 - they recommended that the recruitment process was re-run. Mr Lamey's most recent employer declined to provide references and references were not sought from his clients, the National Audit Office (NAO) found. Ultimately, a disciplinary panel found Mr Lamey had breached four of the seven principles of standards in public life including integrity, objectivity, accountability and leadership. He was subsequently dismissed after two independent investigations for gross misconduct. SOURCEWot, no sexual harassment ? Stunning stupidity to take him on He must have been a "good chap" so they could take him on anyway

IMO he's a clever and highly motivated bloke who made admirable attempts to improve services, collect due revenues and reduce waste. I don't know anything post 2012 but he was one of the few who would listen to you and would back you if you were right. To me, it's a tragedy that people who can offer the Public Sector some much needed fresh thinking somehow always end up a square peg in a round hole. Believe me, it's not the pegs that need to change shape. Now where's that hole cutter?

Although I can't claim to 'know' the truth I'd suggest that the evidence presented rather weighs against him.

I haven't seen any real detail of the evidence. Until then I will stick with believing in the guy I knew. I have seen enough of and taken part in enough disciplinary enquiries in the Public Sector to have my doubts and that's probably as much as I can say.

They're doing it again! Another 'classic' series is to be 'rebooted' which is a polite way of saying "we have no imagination of our own and we want to ruin something you may have once loved." This time it's Magnum P.I. and just to completely balls things about, the previously iconic, integral, character of 'Higgins' is to be portrayed as a woman. I'd like to set Zeus and Apollo on the bloody lot of them.

Could you please wait, Zeus and Apollo are busy setting to Jonathan Frakes for the appalling mess he made of Thunderbirds and I got a deal thrown in for them to maul Val Kilmer for his terrible portrayal of The Saint, too.
Utter travesties. I have almost all the Charteris Saint books and disguise was NOT his primary skill!

I'd like to set Zeus and Apollo on the bloody lot of them. My wife just bought the Boxset about ten days ago. She's already about 6 discs in. It bored the arse off the back in the day and it hasn't improved. Tom Selleck always looked like he belonged in a hair salon rather than a detective series. That said, I'd sooner watch the entire Boxset than put up with an hour of th remake. i particularly hate when they go all PC plod and try to make white people black or change men into women. Either do a faithful remake or leave the thing alone. On second thoughts, just leave the thing alone!

US to put a helicopter on Mars.
Well, a miniature one, the size of a softball - whatever that size is.
I liked Tom Selleck's Jesse Stone TV movies.

Well apparently with inflation and factors such as the tax threshold taken into account, that what it comes out as.
Wages haven't been this depressed in modern times. Of course it doesn't apply if you're a footballer, bank chairman, mult-national board member or hi-fi accessory merchant.

No control from earth will be possible, so it will be self-governing.

Rolling Stones star Keith Richards says he can't be bothered to get angry any more - but the last time he did was nearly 30 years ago with Donald Trump. "He [Trump] was the promoter for us in Atlantic City, during 1989's Steel Wheels Tour," he told the BBC. "It was billed as 'Donald Trump presents the Rolling Stones' with the band's name written in miniature." "I got out my trusty blade, stuck it in the table and said: 'You have to get rid of this man!'" He joked: "Now America has to get rid of him. Don't say I didn't warn you!" SOURCE
