Revised layout, which handily resolves the positioning of the two r/h TubeTraps.

Not sure about that trap by the side of the Record storage. I know what i think about all that malarkey but on a Symmetrical point of view does not look right

Can't help it, Andr'e. It's the only useful corner as there is a door in the real corner. TTs like working in corners, but they'll do their job anywhere to a degree. It all helps with absorption.
EDIT: I have a fifth (damaged) TT. I'll try and repair it (it was dropped on delivery) as another possibility is to stack two at the front corners and delete the one by the door.

Just the two doors, Brian. One to get in and one leading to the electrical supply, so neither can be blocked off.
The patio doors are really big opening windows and will normally be closed with the outside barn doors closed and the inside drapes drawn.
Thanks - getting it all prepared and setup will be quite exciting!

Needs must sometimes though Must be a great feeling starting from scratch and '' tuning '' the room to your taste . I hope it doesn't throw up too many problem . I'm sure you'll deal with any accordingly Martin .

Try not to spend so much time in there that "her indoors" forgets what you look like.
Looking forward to see how the set up progresses.

So important! Luckily she wants to partake and enjoy more music with me, which is really uplifting.

Wow that sounds fantastic, I can't get wifey particularly interested, mainly because she generally has quite a narrow taste in music and therefore cannot stand the majority of what I play LOL

My wife enjoys hifi but often prefers to have her own system (usually Naim or Rega although she adored our NVA "4 pack"). She won't do bouncy turntables because they irritate her and she always thought the LP12 was nothing special when such views were heresy.

Her one working ear is very well tuned and I think she heard the less than good sound better than me. As the upgrades continued I was able to up the volume a bit too

Power is done! Just some making good to do and then the painter arrives on Saturday. The sparky did it a little differently from James's installation, with the consumer unit and RCBs in the cupboard next to the incoming tails and meter. The Coherent 6D cable feeding my P10 regenerator is hard wired into an isolator on the wall and my Missing Link double silver socket is fed from its own cable and RCB. Impedance is low and noise is very low, which is very promising for sound quality.

Great news Martin, what cable do you have linking the CU to the rotary switch and double socket

Two separate sets of 2.5mm armoured cable.

P10 hard wired, hmmm
Very interested to know how that sounds compared to the mains socket beside it.

Looks the biz Martin . I don't think you'll have to worry about the mains supply somehow
