Thanks, James. That's exactly the level of detail I needed for the sparky. Since the 10mm cable will go into the RCD, presumably some lighter cable can then feed the double socket. That's secondary to the hard-wired cable which will feed my regenerator.

Very different to your current room, Martin. ... it's going to be a fascinating journey, I feel sure!

First draft - just roughing it out. I will be able to take better measurements when we move in on 14 October. That looks like a very impressive listening room Martin. It'll be interesting to hear your thoughts on how the system works in there. Considering the size of your Usher's, they may we work better in there than your previous room which would be outstanding I am sure

You can see here the mains coming from the street, at the bottom left of picture, it splits into grey tails that go into the meter. From meter we have tails going into a small black box, bottom right which is the Henley block, the Henley block has three pairs of cables. One pair is the mains in from the meter, one pair out from Henley block is to the house CU, the other pair out is to the dedicated CU for your hifi, so the henley block is a splitter junction box if you like. At the very bottom right you can see a pair of tails that go to the dedicated CU. Here is my dedicated CU, with 4 or 6mm (can't remember) which plugs straight into my BPS , affectionately known as my Mother Trucker Balanced Power Supply. Ignore the grey box on the floor, that is NOT needed, just never got round to removing it. So you can see that I don't use sockets before the MTBPS, and no IEC plugs either, that is a a Neutrik connector, which twists and locks into place. On the back of the MTBPS I have five Neutrik female sockets that feed my Hifi.

Very nice - your single RCD CU looks perfect for the job. I'll have a double socket installed below the CU just in case I need quick dedicated (but not regenerated) mains when testing equipment.

Were it me, I would like to have an isolation switch fitted between the Henley block and the distant CU. Or is there one where the grey coloured tails, seen leaving the meter enclosure, join the black armoured cable seen in the second photo feeding the Wylex CU?
Also, I'm not sure a permanently attached 'flying' mains lead would be satisfactory as regards insurance.

If it comes off the RCD, what would be the problem, Barry?

Also, I'm not sure a permanently attached 'flying' mains lead would be satisfactory as regards insurance. I believe regulations state that if the CU is more than 3m from the meter then a form of isolation switch is needed. As my meter is on the side of the house and the HIFI room is a detached building 17m away my spark installed this Its not got anything to do with insurance as such. Insurance companies have to follow current regulations, not set current regulations. Building regs are often led, or work in partnership with NIC EIC So left box contains pictures in previous post, middle box contains switch in picture above. And here is the distance to the hifi room, not the timber shed. You can see the 10mm armored running along the wall

I prefer being on the point of the equilateral triangle for the speakers. In your diagram quite a bit closer.
How about bringing the speakers forward and maybe having things behind ?
System rack out from the wall is perfect for swapping and testing. Perhaps against the wall when sorted ?

Again, not brilliantly to scale Mike. Once I get the measurement laser thingy out, I'll be able to visualise it all better. I do prefer a wider soundstage, so a little closer as you suggest.

I became a fan of being close to the speakers when I moved office in 2014. Carried it over to home office, both with Isobariks Not so certain with the TADs now. Will experiment a bit with seating, then maybe with toeing, perhaps under supervision Just spotted you move *this* Friday. I have to get back in touch with dates. Lost the plot after retiring All the very best. Shall I come over Saturday for a session ?

You have forgotten the golden rule of moving ! System first unpacked, up and running, *then* take care of the less interesting stuff. So around 5pm Friday surely ?

Martin Have you got this book? If not I will send you mine, the system should go 1/2 way down the side wall with NOTHING in between the speakers. What a load of bollocks most are thinking, I thought that too when I first read the book. When I actually tried it, well its a long story, it will never be going back to the old traditional way, ever. getbettersound.com/index.php
