Martin i purchase 2x0.5m and 1x5m of your cat7.
The 1x5m went from server to netgear switch and 1x0.5m went from netgear switch to first FMC, then the other 0.5m went from 2nd FMC to my Wiim.
I only had a quick listen last night and messaged Damien to give my thoughts of what I was hearing, I was pleasantly surprised, maybe went a bit OTT ? but I had a different listening experience..in a good way.
Think your findings say what I was trying to put across to Damien....
"sounds so outrageously good. upper-mid transparency, bass tightness and general openness."
The Ugreen cat7 replaced bog standard cat6 Martin. Maybe I should look at replacing my run of cat6 from router to netgear switch?

Go for it - I'm not hearing any downside to the uGreen Cat7 although my run is much shorter.
Some Tara Labs burn-in helps, too.

Oh, here's something revealing: play something recorded hideously 'hot' and listen to how the cable deals with it. Bring on Feist - Undiscovered First, my ultimate system brightness torture track. There's more detail in the tambourines/cymbals but not more brightness. It seems to be extracting more good without the bright sheen. Bass is tighter, too, and not less potent. My respect for the uGreen has just ramped up a notch. MartinT The CD FEIST METALS has arrived, your description of hideously "hot" the thought caused me a little anticipation anxt, true great dynamic range (hot), with a good acoustic, superb double bass, drums even the drummer sounds as if he is hitting his stick with the other, the cymbals'/tambourine, piano, acoustic guitar/ electric notes are clean & clear, backing vocals have a real forcefull impact & what a voice FEIST has, I lost interest in new contemporary music about 2000 I must confess FEIST was an unknown artist to me, but other than lowering the volume a little though still louder than I normally listen at, the CD has not set my teeth on edge. Even after my Copper foil exploits neither the OTA Quad 57's or my room would have coped with this CD before I fitted the Auva 50's they are that good in my system/room, as for the CD thank you, I am also pleased that my system appears to have passed this test & I have gained another CD & singer.

Just got back from Audiostore after the upgrade of my Signature Rendu SE to Deluxe (latest) level with a new main board and updated OS. Got it plumbed in and booted up. Deleted the default Roon and Squeezelite apps and setup DLNA for Qobuz hi-res FLAC streaming with my preferred device name.
It's now running music and sounding distinctly 'new' and 'dark' (but, surprisingly, not harsh). Not ready for proper listening so it's going to get a few days of Tara Labs before I can properly judge what's going on with it.
Mike and I had a great day out and a rather good pizza while we waited for the upgrade work to be completed.

The Signature Rendu Deluxe after 24 hours of burn-in. The soundstage has widened and the darkness has receded a little. This is still the least-bright I have heard my system in perhaps ever! It's not bad, it's just quite different for me.
The bass - oh, the bass! Tighter and more powerful than ever, it feels like it wants to shake the room apart at times. Incredible and not boomy or loose at all. When my Ushers are gripped and controlled to this level, they are weapons.
Overall, the sense of timing is strong and the treble end, especially cymbals, has more texture and less splash than I've yet heard from streaming.
That's it for now as I sense there is more to come, so I'll leave it on Tara Labs for another 24 hours.

Ugreen CAT 7 report
Good news... Had 15 minutes with the CAT 7 Ugreen. It took seconds to pick up on the improvements... lower noise floor, bigger soundstage, slightly more bass, but nice and balanced and clean. Totally knocked out my cheap unshielded CAT 6 cables that l added copper to. How good are they, well lt's the best LAN cable l've heard period. Will be interesting to see what the CAT 8 Ugreen performs like.

I've had to attend to a couple of doors being excited by the new-found bass power. I've just played Fast Slow Disco by St Vincent and the bass is truly powerful, layered and quite intoxicating. I hasten to add, it isn't loose or boomy at all. It is textured, punchy, detailed and gut-wrenching in tightness. Upper bass clout is pretty good, too. Four 11" ported Etons can certainly move some air. open.qobuz.com/track/50144415

Really good bass on a great system is a different beast to what I used to think it was Wonder about the top bass players now, Jack Bruce for instance Hmmm

I'm enjoying the fuss-free competence of the way the system plays all manner of music.
I was listening to Mazzy Star earlier and at several moments perking up and admiring the cymbal work going on in the background. I love these moments. When cymbals sound that good and it's not even hi-res, just 16/44, you know the system is working well.

Still at it Martin, when will you ever stop? LOL the new SR pink fuses are now out. I have slowed down! I know about the Pinks but there is only so much mucking around I want to do right now. Leaving the Rendu upgrade to fully burn-in and the system to stabilise. It's sounding sublime, I have found that good balance of whipcrack dynamics, big soundstage, subterranean bass and non-harsh presentation.
