I received my second Aucharm grounding box today. That's gone in place of the Black Ravioli connected to the EtherREGEN. I'm quite taken aback as I can immediately hear the improvement in note decay and, more interestingly, dynamics and clout. So that pretty much completes my journey into grounding boxes. Transformative as a whole? Yes, I can honestly say that they lift sound quality considerably, fully enabling the latent SQ of my individual components. My digital streaming system is performing at a high level with music simply bursting from the speakers. Throughout all of my musical journey from LP/CD/SACD to streaming, the Ushers have remained a constant and are the sole survivors of all the upgrades. They just got better the more my system has evolved. I have huge respect for their abilities. How much is the Aucharm grounding box in GBP please Martin. I'm not sure if it's priced in US dollars or Singapore dollars.

It's on eBay for about £70. Search for grounding box and look at the photos. It looks like a cigar box with Aucharm burned into it.

Use the SGS-1 on the Dac. Will get a second to start with, for the streamer and Evo reclocker. You have both Quartz Acoustic and Aucharm? Which do you prefer?

The QA is better but more expensive. Both are good.

I'm just waiting for the look on the faces of my family when I explain to them what I want for Christmas Edit..They think I'm a bottle short of the full crate anyway A couple of days ago my wife asked what I want for my birthday. I replied, An audio streamer. How much, she asks. Around $1,000 (NZ$). That was the end of that conversation. Looks like I'm buying outdoor furniture for my birthday.

Hah! When I have a non-audiophile visitor and am asked "what do all those boxes do", it's a challenge to come up with an answer that doesn't sound like dumbing down while doing exactly that.

This one is a 20mm, gone into the back of the Gustard DAC. So the Purple has just replaced a Red, which is two steps up the SR chain. The plug fuse is a 1" Blue and I will be replacing it with a Purple too (on order).
Just listening to the Purple in place of the Red, the difference is pretty obvious. More acoustic, better defined soundstage, slightly more resolution. More vibrant still.
The fascinating thing is that it sounds almost exactly like a grounding box being installed into a new location.
Could this be a new measure of improved fidelity? Changes in acoustic, soundstage, small improvements in resolution? There is a theme here which is beginning to become clear to me. The old measures of frequency bandwidth and neutrality are very far away now. All my recent system changes have had an impact on soundstage and note decay, in particular, making music sound bigger and more real.
Soon I'll be able to replace the Blue for a Purple in the DAC cable plug. This should be a smaller improvement, but it would confirm what I am starting to learn in terms of detecting real goodness as opposed to short term but ultimately tiring 'improvement'.

I'm still hearing small changes as the SR Purple continues to burn in after 60 hours. It's most obvious on percussion, from the sticks-on-skin of sidedrums to wood blocks, there is more texture and air than before. Note decay has further extended and the venue acoustic on live recordings is incredible.
This is with just one fuse with the other Purple hopefully arriving tomorrow.
