I've got a walking trough weed-and-feeder so that's no problem, although I need to increase the dose as the plantains are determined to survive.
What we really need is to trade in two good narrow petrol mowers for one wide one. The Toro mulching one looks good.

So it's just weed killer that's needed. Toro make some interesting kit. This one could be you Or

The mulcher does a better job of my rather uneven 'lawn' but then unless the grass is bone dry when cut, you have to put up with treading grass cuttings everywhere once you walk on it..

Hmm, doesn't sound like it's mulching quite right. Is it spinning up fast enough. High blade speed is what's needed for mulching I read.

Here's my 2nd test of using a blade scarifier. The wheels are good. There's no back and forth motion as the would be by hand of course. It certainly digs down and aerated the roots. That's what I'm after. 5kgs gave just the right down force. I need to join two together to be full width and test but the drag doubles. Another alternative is to cut the grass with it on. One time doing the left side of a stripe. The next time doing the right. Job done but over a normal 2 cuts.. Marie wants me to cut the grass with the roller on every time now

I've finished my lawn striping kit after a bit more testing. Now got a uni-pivot tow hookup which makes it a doddle to do 180 degree turns. I have added 30 nylon rod tines that pre-comb the grass before the roller. Copy of the Toro one. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery It stripes even better than before. Very vivid. I shall call it the StripeMeister. Need to work on dead straight lines though

Yes, I found the same problem with slight meandering of the mower looking very obvious afterwards

It's where it's a bit bumpy.. Might get a heavy roller now it's getting a bit soggy.

A bit? We had to do more leaf blowing today and they don't respond so well when they're soggy.

Man, I hate grass. The horrible smell, the mess it makes when you cut it, the effort in having to chop it, the amount it grows when it rains. I don't even like the look of the stuff. It's a hideous colour too. I've eradicated it from every house I've owned and never once missed it. Surely it's cheaper to get shot of the stuff than buy a mower?

.... Surely it's cheaper to get shot of the stuff than buy a mower? Not if you have half an acre of it . And by the way, I just took my small mower (I have a big one too) in for repair - it suddenly started leaking petrol, and then caught fire ! I hope not too much damage done.

We need green land. It creates the oxygen we breathe.

I find mowing quite therapeutic and feel a sense of achievement when the job is done each week!

I like our 2 neighbours who mow vast amounts of grass regularly for me to watch over when I take the dogs walking.
Nice stripes on one.
