Thanks Martin. One more, then I promise I'll stop. There is a different sunset most nights (comfortably more than 50% of nights) and we never tire of the new detail. I missed attempting a photo last night because I was enthralled. Perhaps its because I was reading John Cleese autobiography, but I would swear it was the real sunset Terry Gillam used. I kept expecting to hear God talking through the hole in the clouds, and then this big foot come down and squash something They are not easy to photo. Actually the iphone 6 tends to make a better job of exposure than I do with the D7100 sometimes, but the colours , whilst pretty, are all wrong. Somehow I was never aware of this with film, when I used a Cokin tobacco gradual filter to get lovely red and orange sunsets. But of course, you don't get to compare the colours in film with the real thing on the spot in the way you can with digital This one should be much more purple

I generally use my iPhone to take pictures, yes it is not the best, but it works for quick and easy pictures.
Apart from that I have a Cannon (not sure the model) digital camera - one of these little, easy to use models, although I rarely remember to take it out LOL.

I am not exactly certain how many cameras we have at home, but it's a lot! I have a Canon EOS 20d with a few assorted lenses and a cheap little Fuji S1500 that I can shove in my pocket. I love them both. The Fuji has a way of making the most of what seems like almost no light at all and I have found myself to be extremely adept with the far end of its zoom capabilities.
Mischa has an old Pentax *ist dslr, which turns out a great image, but she also keeps a Fuji X1 in her handbag at all times. That's a great little thing.
We also have a slew of old 35mm Pentax film cameras that get an airing on occasion. Mischa's all black MX is a rare and beautiful thing to hold and use.

I have a Canon EOS 700D. I don't know if it's any good because I haven't used it. I took one "point and shoot pic of the fireplace" and forgot about it. I haven't studied the instructions and I have no idea how it works. One day I may get round to it, but the iPad mini is just so convenient, I can't see myself lugging a camera around. I once bought a huge pair of binoculars with exactly the same results. I think I will stick to hifi purchases from now on.

I remember my old Zenith EM fondly. I used it to take some great photos, especially of the (then) Soviet Union.

I've just picked up a Canon IXUS 155 on eBay. Bloody Hell, it's tiny. I thought I'd bought a scale model by mistake. Can you tell that it's my first digital compact?

I was rooting through a camera bag the other day, looking for something and I turned up my first digital compact camera - it boasted a massive 1.3 megapixel specification. I remember that the 8mb memory cards cost a fortune.

The first digital camera I ever used was a Ricoh which was 300 kilopixels. As you might imagine, photos I still have from it were pretty poor.

I was doing some consultancy work for a company a few years ago and needed to get some images at very short notice, so I was loaned a camera which used a floppy disc for memory. I'll correct myself here, as in the case of my little impromptu expedition into the woods to find images, it actually required many, many floppy discs for memory!

I use an old Nikon D200 with an Tokina F2.8 11-18mm and Nikon 18-200 for when on holiday, otherwise its either my Olympus point and shoot or my samsung smartphone.

Nothing wrong with a D200!
I've still got a D50 for holiday snaps that gives superb results ...
