Hi Brian
Just plugged it in about an hour ago, yes sounds really really good, I never understand how two bits of copper can sound so different. But this cable is also about the design followed and not just the copper.

Daft question here but is there a sticky somewhere about how to post a few pics on this forum.
I'm still getting used to the UI.

Excellent! That's a very purposeful looking amp you've got there.

Excellent! That's a very purposeful looking amp you've got there. Thanks Chris, it is indeed. Another Swiss army knife piece of kit which does its thing in the living room with digital sources. It handles both movies and music well, taking an optical input from my TV and Chromecast for streaming. I occasionally connect the laptop via USB with a supra cable. There's also the ancient Marantz CD63SE lashed to one of the coax inputs. Plenty of clean power on tap here (stated as 140W/ch @4ohm) and can be used as either pre or power amp.

Big beast! So what does 'DIDRC' stand for?

Big beast! So what does 'DIDRC' stand for? Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry. Despite being beyond the normal range of human hearing, frequencies above 100 kHz are susceptible to clock pulse and other forms of distortion from digital devices. Such distortion in the super high frequency range can generate “beat interference”, which in turn affects the character or atmosphere of the original sound. By improving linearity and reducing distortion in the super-high frequency range, Onkyo’s new DIDRC technology effectively reduces perceptible noise. I like the look of it.

Sorry Barry, that particular Orthophonic belongs to a friend and I that is the only image that I can find on my hard drive of a get together quite some time back. I have owned a pair of Orthophonics myself, and mighty fine they are IMHO.
