I know it was only the first race, but I am a little concerned about Hamilton, I just hope he doesn't allow Rosberg to beat him, that would be all kinds of wrong. Rosberg forced Hamilton onto the grass in the first lap, causing him to lose several places that he then spent the rest of the race trying to recover from. If Hamilton had not lost so many places then he would have won the race.

Also I noticed that both the Ferarri's set faster laps than the Mercedes cars, although the surprise of the day was that Daniel Riccardo managed to get the Fastest Lap. Are we going to see a changing of the guard I wonder?

Nico apologized to Lewis after the race, and Lewis admitted that Nico had no other choice but to swerve out of the way of some other cars in order to avoid a collision, thereby ending up in the path of Lewis. So neither of the Merc drivers saw it as a point to argue about.

If you're a Lotus fan (And who isn't!?!), and of small stature (Which I am!), you may be interested in this: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311569744064All motifs are embroided and original price was over £100. From the 2012 season. Got a couple and really pleased.

Just watched this. Quite eventful. Great result for the Haas team to get points on their inaugural race - no mean feat in F1!

Indeed, Manor must have been green with envy.

Did anyone notice that: 1. Vettel lobbed the 2nd place cap at Hamilton as a joke to what happened last year between Lewis and Nico? 2. The champagne used on the podium was flat?

Did anyone notice that: 2. The champagne used on the podium was flat? There is a good reason for that, It's not Champagne.
The bubbly sprayed around on the podium in Formula 1 is no longer champagne, but sparkling wine, after a change in sponsor for the 2016 season.(From the BBC F1 web page)

Jeez. When they start swapping ordinary wine for champagne you know the party is over. The sparkle has now gone out of the celebrations.

Carbonated water makes a lot more fizz than that.

I currently get the F1 channel for free on Sky, hope they don't intend on me/us having to have the full Sports package because if they do then I guess I'll need to find another sport to follow

Like many others I won't be paying to watch. Will companies pay to advertise their brands on cars with a reduced audience size? It seems rather like Rugby League (mostly pay to view) which has become a very small niche but it's a sport that doesn't require hundreds of millions each year to run a team. Another nail in the F1 coffin.
