Qually format was pants. Same outcome just no real showdown. Remember the Senna / Mansell days of trading fastest laps right up to the wire? That was exciting. This was dull as dishwater. Ok the coverage was bad, not even showing Lewis and Rosberg last laps until they were almost over. Instead we not quizzical looking Ferrari boss and all others getting out of the cars?! Quite bizarre. Hope they change it for next race.

Everyone seems in agreement. So the FIA will keep it, then!

Well, that was exciting! Both Hamilton and Rosberg were mugged by Vettel at the start and for a good part of the race it looked like Ferrari were on for the win. The red flag saw Ferrari make some bad decisions allowing Rosberg to undercut and the strategy to one-stop Hamilton on medium tyres saved the day for him.
The red flag was for a terrible crash for Alonso, which luckily he walked away from. There was good scrapping further back with the Torro Rossos looking very strong and the Haas doing remarkably well. What happened to Williams?
Bad boy of the day goes to Verstappen, who looks to be becoming an enfant terrible. His colleague Sainz goes about his business more calmly and looks just as strong.
1. Rosberg 2. Hamilton 3. Vettel

Just watched the Channel 4 highlights. Not bad, although I'm not liking Steve Jones. Not much personality and an irritating accent. Race was reasonably eventful and that's more important.

Race was rather interesting, Hamilton ballsed up the start which cost him the race as he was clearly faster than Rosberg, although the Ferrari's are looking rather tasty but their strategy was appalling.
Verstappen was like a petulant child but I guess he still is a child. Although all of the greats have that personality trait, and I genuinely think he'll be a future star.

Carlos Sainz has shown himself to be a far better driver than Verstappen. But the media has been almost exclusively focused on Max, few have found the time to mention Carlos even in passing. Because Max made some risky passing moves that succeeded in most cases, he has been hailed as a future star. But let's remind ourselves that the same was said of Maldonado after he won a race way back in 2012.

Very true regards to Maldonado Stan but I am not sure I would agree re Sainz. In think he is a good driver but Verstappen has shown himself to be a true racer. Look at today, it took Sainz 5 laps to be overtake the Renault whereas Max got through in 3 corners.

Verstappen got through as a result of Sainz's hard work, displacing Palmer.

So Verstappen managed to pass Palmer, but he just couldn't pass Carlos. He even attempted to get the pit crew to force Carlos to slow down so that he could pass. Let's also remind ourselves that Verstappen has ran into the back of several drivers already in his short spell in F1 so far. He nearly managed to take Carlos out in Australia too. Maldonado had a similar track record.

Verstappen is undoubtedly good, but he's beginning to believe the hype. Petulant is the right word for him.
Sainz is doing it all so well, ignoring everything and saying it doesn't bother him. I really like him.
The Toro Rosso is a damned quick car.

I watched the highlights last night.
I wonder if anything could be salvaged from Alonso's car, I doubt it.
He was very lucky to get out unscathed, and no brown stains on his racing suit.

He was quoted as doubting that even the engine could be saved. That's one used already!

That's a bit mean, calling Alonso a plank!

That's a bit mean, calling Alonso a plank! Na I think it is quite a good representation personally... although however much I cannot stand the Spanish ignoramus, I am very glad he wasn't hurt in that massive accident yesterday!

I know it was only the first race, but I am a little concerned about Hamilton, I just hope he doesn't allow Rosberg to beat him, that would be all kinds of wrong.
