Hamilton mus be favourite to win again. He is the king of late braking, which gives him the edge over the other drivers on the Montreal track. I somehow suspect that Verstappen is going to hit the wall here as well. If it rains I fancy Button for a podium spot. He and Hamilton are the masters of this track when it is wet. I somehow suspect that it is a British thing.

If it is a man made island, whose idea was it to put groundhogs on it to do chicken runs?

Pole for Lewis although as he admits it was a pretty average run for him, although he was bloomin' quick all day on Friday.

Yes, he did what was needed, great first run in Q3.

Come on Lewis, wipe the smile even further off Rosberg's face!
I've never been a Red Bull fan, mainly because of the drivers they've had in the past (except Webber) and that smarmy Horner, but I hope they do well in this race - it'll be nice to see more of a scrap for the top 10. Mind you, I hope Force India do quite well as well, and of course, McLaren.
Would be nice to see a couple of unexpected finishers in the top 5.

I think any one of half a dozen drivers could win this one. Their performance is close and there will be mistakes and perhaps one or two in the wall.

Watched quali this morning. Yes, the Tart took pole, but wasn't it only by 0.06s over Britanny. Hardly commanding, could be early handbags again...
Nice to see Ricciardo edged Max back a row, that should put a smile back on his face. It was him that got intimate with the wall to do it though - yet I can't help but agree it will probably be where Max exits the race.
Highlight was Fernando's whoop for joy on getting through to Q3. He's kept an exemplary demeanor throughout all the adversity (unlike many others) but that one was from the heart.

Well, that was edge-of-seat and pretty enjoyable. Good win for Hamilton and silly mistake by Rosberg, kudos to Verstappen for keeping his head. Great race for Vettel, too, who was pushing hard. Nice to see Bottas on the podium again.

Yep great race for Hamilton but for Ferrari's strategy error it could have been very different. Glad he's reduced the points to 9 now, brilliant, I now generally believe Lewis is the stronger for the Championship

There was a comic moment after the race when Hamilton and Vettel were chatting to each other that had me in stitches. It kinda went like this: Hamilton: "I had a bad start". Vettel: " I had a brilliant start. Did you see it?" Anyone else got the joke?

They were funny, talking about watching the seagulls, too.

Yes the two of them are quite funny together. I guess two people at the top of their game playing around... Think they might have been a little bit tipsy too

But this race was characteristic for many reason. One of them goes back to what Vettel said about the strategy mistake. "We have very strong people on board making decisions and I don't want them to be criticised," he said. "With hindsight it is always very easy, but I will always defend what we did." Compare that to the way that Riciardo has been behaving after the mistake at RB in Monaco. Riciardo does not let a moment go by to look severely upset that he did not win that race.

They were funny, talking about watching the seagulls, too. The reason for the chat can be seen in the pic at ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/976/cpsprodpb/13DF3/production/_89959318_vettel_seagulls.jpgVettel: "He's not braking for animals! You should give him a hard time because of that. "Two seagulls, Turn 1 ..." Hamilton: "I feel like you're using the seagulls, they were innocent!" Vettel: "I'm a racing driver, so I have to find some sort of excuse why the hell you beat me today!" Hamilton: "I saw you lock-up and then the seagulls did move..." Vettel: "I had my eyes into Turn 1 and I saw this stupid couple of seagulls sitting there all relaxed ... I'm coming, my car is red, it's easy to see, it doesn't blend in like yours." Hamilton: "It was planned! You know I'm good with animals, right? I'm like Dr Dolittle, I told them to be there and they were there." [After a replay of the wrong lap] Vettel: "It was the worst moment of my race ... I will stay here until you find the lap!" [Once the footage is replayed] Vettel: "Two seagulls, you see! I had my eyes so deep into the apex I locked up!" Hamilton: "So deep! Oh my God, they are so far away!" Vettel: "I know, but mind the animals, honestly, I'm very nice. They stayed there, that's what really annoyed me ... they stayed there! There's a red car coming at one hundred and something [mph] and they stayed there!"

It's uncharacteristic of Ricciardo, though. It's the norm for Rosberg to whinge so we don't notice it any more.
