I haven't seen anything of the new track yet, but this weekend could be very interesting...everyone's level on track knowledge...

Mercedes appear miles ahead of everyone with Lewis quite a margin ahead of Rosberg.

The top 5 cars are Mercedes powered. The cars look awesome going down that long straight.

The track reminds me of some of the European Touring Car races on Grid (Xbox 360).

Carlos Sainz is living up to all my expectations. He is getting performance out of that old Ferrari engine that the Italians themselves could not manage consistently. My bet is that he could well end up with Ferrari. Hamilton has started playing mind games with the rest of the drivers. And based on the bravery of some of those drivers to overcome the fear of the track, I can see Perez and Bottas joining Hamilton on the podium.

I agree with that, Stan. I've had my eye on Sainz for a while now, shame that the Verstappen move overshadowed his efforts. I wonder if Ferrari have their feelers out for him to replace Raikkonen?
How embarrassing that the teams with older Ferrari engines are beating Ferrari themselves!

Small change to the front suspension and Hamilton is top of the timing sheets for FP3, too.
What a shame for Perez at the end there. Like for Ricciardo, that wall is pretty unforgiving.

What a shame Hamilton clipped the wall (so did Rosberg but he was luckier). I'm sure he'll do what he's good at from 10th tomorrow. Great drive by Perez, he must be ruing that gearbox penalty now.

A very rare off day in Quali for Hamilton, he just couldnt seem to get it together. He made no excuses and was honest saying that he just wasn't on it today. Rossy will be chuffed he made pole. He likes leading from the front, clear track no hassle so should be his race but you never know. I'm hoping he doesnt have it all his way.

Yep bit of a silly mistake by Lewis but I like the fact he's owned up to it. Hopefully Rosberg will do something stupid and crash out of the race, hehe

You could see in the slo-mos that the tyres just weren't sticking.

Despite free practice and qualifying, I get the impression there will be plenty of mistakes during the race which will mix things up. As well as Monaco, the track reminds me of one of the V8 Supercar tracks - very confined and unforgiving - anyone not able to utilise the few escape roads will more than likely end up in a race finishing accident, and if it's within the first few laps particularly, it could cause a pile up of closely following cars...

I can't believe there was no incidents or safety car!

Rosberg got it just how he likes it, clear track ahead nothing to do but drive. That said he took pole, held his start, fastest lap and the win. Not a great weekend for Hamilton and more mechanical gremlins, he'd have secured a podium finish otherwise I'm sure. He'll be back and still lots of races to go.

Depressing race that paints a picture of much that is wrong with F1. Crap track that is probably only on the calendar because they bought Bernie's approval; cars so reliant on tech that a driver can't figure out what mode to select in order to actually race; McLaren and Honda getting nowhere despite spending millions and employing two world champions because they face restricted development and no testing; finally a bloody Mercedes wins by a mile yet again. This sport has been ruined by a senile dictator who is doing a great impression of Emperor Nero and leading F1 towards the same fate as Ancient Rome. Bernie resembles a walking cadaver these days. Is he determined to take F1 with him I wonder?
What will it take for someone to realise that F1 needs a full reboot? It will only happen via a coup or fate removing Ecclestone for us. Here's hoping it comes soon, whatever means it arrives by.

Wow! It wasn't THAT bad ? What is bad is the engineer not being able to tell a driver which button to press to put his car in the right mode. I understand no assist with the clutch from start and no other 'information' over the radio. BUT they have made the sport deliberately very technical yet if a driver goes out and finds his car has an incorrect mode, he then has to try and work it out himself, within 20 odd plus perpertations and whilst negotiating corners, walls, other drivers etc at crazy speeds. Not only that but because he then cant chase and race to full effect the fans are denied a proper race for better position - It's daft !! On another note, The future.... Button in a Williams replacing Massa and Perez in a Ferrrari replacing Raikkonen ??

This whole weekend has been a strange one for Lewis. He was dominant on Friday, but then the engineers made some adjustments to the car and it was clearly inferior on Saturday. Then next thing that happened is that somebody re-programmed the positions of the drive modes. Nico is told before the race to change between modes. He finds out that there is a loss of power, so he changed it. But Hamilton is not told anything and sent on his way in the reprogrammed mode that produces less power. Surely none of this could be an accident.
