Brian was over at my gaff today, brought over the X1's and the X2's to try on my glass rack. Will have a play Friday see whats what, I have Steve's isolation platform as well so will compare with that as well.

Steve's rollers worked very well with my S1NX platform when we tried them on my system.

These are suitable to be fitted to my SL1200, (which I have just done) with them replacing a set of Isonoe feet. I listened to both sides of an album prior to swapping in the BO!NG feet. They are a little bit fiddly to adjust to get the deck leveled, but once done they seem much better than the Isonoe feet. The music seems more focused but with more space between the instruments. I won't be putting the Isonoes back on. I wonder if the Isonoe feet will be any good under my CD player?

Try the Electric Beach Rockin' Rollers under the CD player Kevin . They're very effective under this type of kit .

They look remarkably like Solid Tech Feet of Silence.

A similar concept, but they work really well on my SL1200. I also saw some "Solid Air" magnetic isolation feet that looked interesting on eBay.

I was going to say the idea is similar to the Something Solid approach, but there seems to be even closer types as mentioned above. Something Solid pre-tensioned sail-rope and balsa shelving is still a preferred way of doing things and current racks and stands look much neater too these days. Deco Audio (Aylesbury) and Signals (Ipswich) have pics on their web site and of course my old friend hifi dave regularly sells the speaker stands with Harbeths, as do other Harbeth dealers up and down the country I've discovered.

Yeah - I forget where, but I gave him a hard time about that today on one of the forums. Funny thing having been to Kevins that I hadn't spotted the obvious point - never mind the glass - what about a wall shelf? I think Kevin is looking at a very smart item on another thread on another forum, and I'd be serious tempted too, except that I am so used to scruffy that the cost of smartening up everything to that standard would be prohibitive So I guess its the offcut from the sink for the kitchen worktop for me again, on a simple wood triangles frame. Although Mrs S may have something to say about that in her posh new living room. At least my springs are nice and discreet - inside the plinth That said - in spite of fitting the aforementioned chipboard shelf to an external brick wall for most of my PT's life, I have long argued that the suspension makes it fairly immune to the shelf it sits on, and when I was down at Funk playing with BO!NG on a Rega RP1 we had that on a crap low unit on the floor in a portacabin, so I could video it with my smartphone - and BO!NG was making a serious difference to the sound from the Rega even in that situation So I don't suppose it sounds too bad chez Wonky!

How is everyone positioning these rocking' rollers under equipment?
If use them pointing forwards (toward the listener) the same way as the pictures on eBay, show my integrated amp is so unstable it nearly tips sideways! (Blame the massive transformer on the right hand side of the amp)
Turning them 90º seems to help but its still less stable than just using the equipments standard feet.
Cheers, James
