Colin, implicit (but not explicit) in my post above is that your SECA boards are far too interesting to not be available, both low and high power versions. I hope some way can be found to keep your ideas and projects flowing. DIY will always be a slow burn, for people to commit to a DIY project it's usually a careful decision process to assess the costs and decide whether the commitment is there in terms of time and effort. Your spreadsheets are invaluable both in terms of identifying costs and part numbers.

Colin like Clive I really do hope you do not give up on this and agree talking about on the DIY forums will help. With me its just a case of not having funds right now

With me its just a case of not having funds right now Well I've almost build one, a BIG one, then I'm going to build the smaller one with the separate PSU boards, then after that I'm hoping to build another and go active!

Sounds like a good plan How do you plan to control the crossover when going active I presume Mini DSP

No, DSP only runs two channels per side. I bought a moded Behringher DCX2496 from Steve, to get me started, but because I'm an over the top kind of guy, there is apparently a DIY kit from Poland that will blow the pants off most other active xovers, so of course that is the way I have to go

Look forward to learning more James I thought your bass drivers were using a crossover?

Look forward to learning more James I thought your bass drivers were using a crossover? Your right mate, as it stands, the class A Iridium powers the lot through a passive xover, at some point, I'll have three dual mono amps and an active xover and run the speakers actively

I've sent Colin 2 private messages recently asking about his SECA amp PCBs, but had no reply yet.
Am I the only one ?

Can I urge anyone thinking/considering building this kit to buy the boards !NOW! If you have the boards, at least you have the basis for the amp. Then you can populate the boards. Buy the heatsinks when you can afford to. Buy the transformers later, and then a case.
If interest doesn't pick up !!SOON!! it looks like Colin won't be continuing with kits.

Colin, as long as your current e-mail address is tied to your 'colin' account, you should be receiving PMs by e-mail as well as Messages here. You could always check in the Messages bar above to see what you might have missed?

I'm glad you have a cool workshop.
Have you had any more thoughts about the more powerful version ?
Depending on price I might be prepared to pay "up front" so you know who are genuine customers.
Would you expect the more powerful one to sound better than the smaller one at (for example) 10 watts per channel ?

This KIT PCB is able with suitable heatsink provide up to 18-22W but the heatsinks will be big and not cheap.
