I reckon they would be a good subject for playing around with some modifications?

Yes Chris, I'm going to ask a mate (who's local to me) if he thinks there is anything worthwhile upgrading. Right now I'm in no rush to reconnect my Concept bookshelves, the Sony's sound very nice at low volume with the tuner today.

Hmmm now that's interesting. I really fancied the Concept 20s at one point. If you want a laugh find one of my threads on old Castles I was arsing around with. My DIY skills are dreadful.

Can't be worse than mine. I bought a small bottle of cellulose thinners to get the old glue off and promptly spilled half its smelly contents on the carpet and the speaker!

I would be tempted to do both speakers, to keep their characteristics the same.

I'll make that decision when the new dust cap arrives. If it's a good match they'll be no need to renew the other one. They don't make a huge difference to a driver's performance and they are cheap speakers.

Hi Chris, no I sold them to a local chap. I decided to stay with the Q Acoustics Concept 20 with a BK Gemini II sub.

Fair enough! Be interesting to hear how you like the Concept 20s.
