This has been going well. Why do they feel the need....? But they do.

I tell you what I can't stand: avatars that use moving images. Some of them are mildly amusing the first time you see them, but most are not, and when seen for the 100th time they do pall rather. Sadly another member goes on the Hidden list. Soon won't be worth bothering visiting the forum. There will be three admins and a tiny band of individuals. That was very diplomatically put. Originality requires originality not repetition . That was very diplomatically put. Originality requires originality not repetition . That was very diplomatically put. Now, if you made that ice cream on your head twirl I'd give you a round of applause. Didn't realise you could get gifs apps for mobiles, Martin. Couldn't do anything with the hair - but I did come up with something! Amuses me! Not everyone's impressed, however. Surprised at how intolerant people can be. But, that's life I suppose. I'll remove it when the novelty wears off. Although having the somewhat childish sense oh humour I have - that might be some time.

Yep, the novelty has already worn off here. Same here. It's a bit like the snow thing, nice for 20seconds ....

LOL - there was a LOT of sense of humour failure over that (and the April Fool)!

Alan, you do have the ability to delete a post for the first 24 hours. After that, posts are locked. The reason we do this is to prevent a member from flouncing off and deleting all their posts, breaking threads and continuity. After being ejected from another forum, the owner decided to trash it by removing very many of my 17,000 posts and making me appear as a 'guest'. This resulted in many broken and meaningless threads. We won't allow that to happen here, either by members or ourselves (moderation removals excepted).

Here it is at the higher level top right hand menu. It was the first one I felt a need to be tidy about.

If you were desperate to edit or remove a post after 24 hours, with good reason, you could always PM one of the Admin staff.

I can only repeat saying again that I am really surprised people can be so intolerant over something as insignificant as an avatar using 5 frames of pictures. I'd hate to think how they would respond to real-life situations that really matter. I can only imagine. I'm reminded why I never bothered with forums in the past. I did think this one might be a tad different though.
Anyway, just for all you sad buggers out there (you know who you are) - it's been changed - as you can see.
Perhaps I should look for a humour forum. Individuals here do appear to have a distinct lack of it.

I didn't mind your flashing avatar either, although it still didn't beat the kitten on Wigwam.

Doesn't seem to work on my iPad (generally don't sit in front of a real computer anymore, except for work). I just see a black avatar for you. Am am I missing much? I may have to go and find a real computer to see.

The following (piece, program) contains Flashing Images is often said on Television channels. Why do they do that? Are they sad intolerant buggers out to upset certain parties on this forum? Or are certain parties ignorant, far from being responsible and only interested in themselves. Not insignificant to others old fruit, you are just unaware. www.bbc.co.uk/editorialguidelines/page/guidelines-harm-flashing-images/Unfortunately both seekers of individuality are totally disinterested in other peoples POV and just want to do what pleases them decrying any who say something other than - "that is amazing" to their individualistic efforts. Yes it is harsh but Martin and his team did the right, responsible thing with avatars and other images For those that relish such images have a look at this avatar www.hifiwigwam.com/showthread.php?118995-Windows-10&p=2101324#post2101324 an image of a cat
